Default $3 Mod

Thanks to everyone here for all of the great ideas. This one is my favorite. (3) $1 yellow Sharpies!

Has anyone done this long enough ago to tell if the Sharpie color fades or transfer to clothing over time?

Ask Jeremy Wellborn as he did this with his yellow corvette and wrote about it on this forum years ago ( course that corvette was later totaled in a flood in Oklahoma). Stiil, I don’t think the color ever came off on his clothes before the car was totaled.

I did mine last year it was a great cheap mod put on the forum by one of our members ( sorry, I forgot who the master mind was ) and it still holding up well. It did rub off just a bit where my back rubs when getting in and out of the vehicle.
I did get quite a few comments about it at at shows last year !!

I heated it up pretty well to set the ink with a heat gun. I'm hoping that's the trick, if not...., $3

I've used Sharpies for coloring other stitched leather without issue. But, I've not used yellow and color "permanence" may differ.

There's a pretty extensive thread in the C8 section covering this topic using a variety of "pens" --- good reading

It is a pretty cool mod and just takes a lot of patience and a few bucks. Nice DIY project.

Don't forget about a couple of hrs. time! As long as you have the beer the time will go fast, not saying how well the job will turn out though !

Don't be afraid, I take it your going to use a yellow marker on the white stitch on a black seat ( dash doors etc ?? You will love it when you are done in 3 hrs.
