My first Vette
1. What benefits (free?) should be expecting? Oil changes, OnStar remote start on app, etc.
2. Even though I saw an oil change documented on the Carfax report that was provided, I don't see any maintenance documented on GM's site....Am I checking it correctly or is it possible that the guy's own service department didn't document any oil change?
3. What else am I forgetting that I should do since this is my first one?
1) Im assuming your buying a Pre-Owned car, so there may or may not be the normal freebies included.
2) I would NOT ask for free oil changes - cause more times than not - when it comes to oil changes - you get what you pay for...meaning alot of dealerships screw up the oil change (too much oil, not draining BOTH oil drain plugs, leaving an old filter in place, filling oil in the wrong place, etc). My advice would be do your own oil changes cause you save money and learn so much about your car.
3) You should get 3 months free OnStar (I thought it was cool to start my car from my phone) but other than that I found zero use for OnStar
4) Maybe you can ask for some special floor matts
5) Maybe you can negotiate a cheaper extended warranty
6) Maybe ask for a clear bra installed at a major discount
If you have the VIN you can set up an account at my.chevrolet.com. You can check the relevant dates on the Warranty tab.
XM radio came with a free one year subscription (2/3LT), OnStar one month free. They now charge after the trial period for key fob services (was free for 5 yr on my 2014). If not turned on, have the dealer start the trials. If already on, you probably have some XM left.
Welcome aboard!

If you do decide to do your own oil changes, you better invest in the lower profile ramps - your Vette will not go up a standard size one since they sit so low with the front wing dam. I only have 5,000 miles on mine, and I will have to decide if I am going to start changing my now oil, or continue to have the dealer do it.

Whatever you do, don't give OnStar you're CC info...unless you want to pay out the nose for those features. Even when you try to cancel, they will hound you to death if you give them CC info.
Make sure you check for the included items - aka, owners manual, tow hooks, fuel funnel. Look inside the secret compartment under the mat in the rear hatch.
If you want to ask for an extra - see if they will throw in a battery tender for free.

Instructions for oil changes by others: install 9 qt and give you the 10th qt. so you can adjust the level. This avoids overfills. I have been known to check my oil level before leaving the dealer lot.

When I bought my '14 in 2016 the dealership was offering oil changes for life on NEW cars. Since I was spending sizable money on a used car with 5K miles at the time I was able to convince the S.M. to give it to me as well. It stated it was not transferrable if I sold the car, which he was honest enough to admit almost all people don't keep cars forever. I've about three changes/year in the last three plus years and on a Z51 it takes 10 quarts of Mobil One, and with the other costs (filter, labor, sales tax, etc.) it has saved me about 100 bucks per change over about 10 changes. Like my old man used to say, it never hurts to ask. Good luck. (oh, and my dealership has a great Vette mechanic so no fears of overfilling, not putting on new filter, etc.)
