I have a 2016 base Stingray A8 coupe. I was trying to gather some numbers for future cost planning. My thoughts were that the automatic transmission may be my first big expensive replacement down he road. Doing some research I ran across the link below.
Am I reading this correctly? The “Description” seems a little inaccurate and I am not sure of the “Replaces” numbers either.
Could this be all a GM remanufactured automatic transmission really costs? Sure install labor and shipping will be extra. Thoughts?
I've owned five Corvettes with automatic transmissions - amassing more than 800,000 miles over the past 30 years... transmission replacement is way down on my list of "worries."
Well yeah but you get the core charge back when you return the core. Also I am sure that does not include a converter. However if I can get 125k to 150k miles out of my original trans that will probably carry the car to 300k miles with a reman trans and by then a new engine will probably be needed as well.
