Z51 with after market rims and different tire sizes.
My front wheel wells have slightly more of a gap/spacing than the rears. I'm okay with the rears....but thought about just lowering the front a little bit...not all the way.
Any reasons why I shouldn't do or couldn't? I WILL be tracking...so, if just lowering the front is bad, I won't do it.
My Z51 with mag-ride only went down 1/2" so just manage your expectations accordingly. The non-mag ride cars drop more I've read.
Regardless I could not tell the difference on track and I doubt any weekend HPDE drivers could either. The purists will tell you the car was engineered at this height for a reason and any changes will compromised that.
The performance difference is so minimal it will be lost in all the background noise, for example tire pressure is way more important. A track day is not the pole run for the Indy 500 so as long as the tires don't rub I say go for it.
yea...tire rub. I'm going to check for that for sure. I'll be changing the brake fluid soon. When I have the wheels off, I'll have a really good look then.
