Lots of opinions here...

I have done my own custom installation of lambo door hinges on my third gen camaro 15 years ago. Took them off 13 years ago.

My information has nothing to do with opinion.

As someone stated before, you are fighting physics here. The stock door has 3 anchor points. Two front hinges and a latch. This triangulation give the latched door stability in the opening, like a tripod. Due to the articulation needed to go out (to clear A-pillar) and up, you need to eliminate the lower connection front hinge. This makes the door only connected in two spots. If you grab the top and bottom of a lambo conversion door you can wiggle it a lot since the latching system wasn't designed to deal with this. Expect rattles and poor weatherstrip sealing.

The only pleasant comment I can add is cleaning your door jambs will become a breeze. Otherwise, I've got nothing.

My father and I installed these a few weeks ago.
It is not easy aligning up to say the least. Removing the door and panel then re-routing existing wires and extending only a few wasn't hard at all. I used the Dream Car Custom kit out of Savannah, GA. It is a bolt on kit except for the wire extension. The design prevents removing the fenders or cutting.
They offer installing it for $750.
I like them, but since I am used to regular doors my whole life, they take a little getting used to. They are not really flimsy and work very simple. You still open the door like normal and don't have to lift it up if you don't want to. Once open you simply lift up. Closing it, I grab the handle and pull down all the way and then pull close. Buy some touch-up paint because no matter how careful, you'll need it. Where mine chipped you will never know.
I want to add that the owner, Troy, was there for every call and guided us as much as he could. I don't think I've ever experienced such great customer service. He was even disappointed we didn't ask for more help.
They have a grease zerk and receiving notch that needs to serviced with grease every now and then. Haven't had any leaking issues or noise.
A fun option to have, but not for everyone.

Did your doors settle a few days after installing?

Lambo doors is a misnomer, they were NOT first put on Lambos they are VERTICAL doors and they were first used in 1969 on ALpha Romeo Carabo But the Lambo was the main company that used it so the nickname stuck. so what Im trying to say is all the posters that say " he's trying to look like a Lambo" maybe he is but most people just like the looks of a vertical door. The other style I think are ZLR doors/ butterfly doors I cant remember where they first showed up. I think Gullwings were first on Deloreans...
Only thing I wonder about is how heavy the door is, because you are required to push it up. Not for me but for my Gf, it's pointless to put them on my car if she cant push the door up.

They look good at car shows, etc. but other than the look to me no real benefit to justify the cost and potential problems.

The doors will still open in a normal fashion enough to get in and out of the car, so maybe only flipping them up at car shows would limit the wear and tear on the hinge mechanism.

Never, that being said don't think there is a lot of people to be able to get decent data.
Also how often are these doors being cycled up and down has a lot to do with miles and intended use of the car.

Fair weather show car, very few lifts.
Daily driver and the user really likes to lift them at every gas station and grocery store... Vastly different cycles.

Chances are it is fine if you are careful.

#1 I would be concerned with narrowing the market when it’s time to sell and or adversely affecting the price when that time comes.

#2 Aftermarket parts sometimes are of questionable quality and can lead to all sorts of problems.

#3 I doubt this is an easy install and if not careful you could end up damaging the doors and or fenders leading to paintwork.

How they look is all personal preference

Not on my list, but it's your car, so go with whatever blows your skirt up!
If reselling the car is a consideration, my guess is that the resale market for the car would shrink with the mod...

I can't imagine doing this to a C7, but then some will go to great lengths just to be different and their car, their prerogative. All that weight of the door hung in that position has got to extremely hard on the hinges and supports.

I've owned Deloreans with the gull-wing doors that were pretty cool and very well constructed into the overall engineering and design of the car. Never had a minute's problem with them in any of the three I owned.

Mine are still doing great. I have 0 issues. I don't always lift them up but when I do all I hear is oooooo, ahhhhh- that's neat!! The only "issue" is when someone new sits in it I have to ask them to make sure it is all the way down when pulling closed. Not for nothing, it's just a Chevy. I don't understand any negativity. Maybe not where you live, but where I live, they are a dime a dozen.

The Mercedes 300SL of the mid 50s had the Alpha beat by about 15 years with Gullwing doors!

That's correct, you can pick a nice one up today for around a million or two $$.
