Hi
I´am a C5 guy, but I´am asking for my budy. As he was working in the US he bought a C7 and now that he is coming back to his country, he wants to bring the car with him, but for that, among other several things, he needs the engine number but he is unable to find it.
Can you tell me where is that number located in the C7 engine?
Thanks in advance!!
Never heard of that. Are you you looking for VIN (obviously on right bottom of windshield). Otherwise the engine type is LT1, LT4 or LT5 depending on model. Wish i could help more.
I mean the engine block number or the serial #. The car travels to Uruguay and the authorities require an engine number (Block?) Which is independent from the VIN.
Here, all the vehicles that circulate must have in their documentation the VIN and the engine number, otherwise the car cannot be registered.

When I bought an LS3 crate-engine a few years ago it had the engine number placed onto the engine block at the right-front, just before the cylinder head. It wasn't traditionally stamped permanently on the block, but was a stick-on... well, sticker! I couldn't believe it. Since I was covering that entire area with accessories I pealed off the "engine number" and put in my files. I wouldn't expect anything any better on production C7s.
