I hit a deer carcass full-on at 70mph...impacted meat and bone up under the centerplate...needed a professional shop to remove the plate and use antiseptic cleaner EVERYWHERE...car smelled like the exhaust fans at a Steakhouse restaurant immediately after the event. But now all odor is gone and back to new car aroma!
Not trying to one up anyone...but I think I win this one. This is Red-shouldered Hawk that flew in front of my truck when I was driving about 70 mph. Not sure if it was chasing prey on the ground, but it changed its flight path to fly right into the truck. It didn't die. It suffered a broken wing and a couple of scrapes...but it was alive and VERY pissed off when I tried to get it out of there. Thankfully, I was right at a Ranger station, and a game warden pulled it from the grill. He had THICK gloves on and pulled it head first the rest of the way through the grill. It was a bummer that my grill was an irreplaceable Saleen F150 grille.

Nastiest thing I ever smelled from a bird strike was a late 60s Cadillac that took a buzzard right in the grill at about 70/75. Took out the grill, a/c condenser and the radiator. Hood popped open, broke the windshield and bent the hood. I stopped to see if I could help. The buzzard pretty much exploded. The combined smell of hot coolant, fresh and cooking buzzard guts was about as bad as anything I've encountered. I guess that could be cleaned up, but it would have been a terrible job.
Y buddy hit a squirrel going wot in his 16Z06 while on Bluetooth with me blood guys in everything and he broke the grill.
All I heard was "Waaaaaaaaaaaaah..thunk...jesus christ wtf ypu SOB basted mfer" and hung up. I didn't know what happened for a good 5 minutes I thought he crashed.
Then we figured out non camera grill is cheap and a plastic welder? Well who doesn't like more tools? So he swapped the cameras out and welded them on the new non camera grill.
It is a well known fact that “Ford birds” regularly off themselves after gazing upon the beauty and speed of any Corvette! Now if we can just rid the world of “Ford mice...”
Thank you all for the suggestions and comments. Bird was removed without taking the bumper off. Was able to get a cloth inside to clean the reaming bird parts up.
Here is a video of a bird strike in my car while on track. I also have snake and horse video encounters while on shifter kart. Ran over a cow on Hwy 20 once.
