2016 Z51, A8 . 6280. miles , No shudder , no problems . After reading that GM would install the LV ATF HP Blue lable under power train warranty I called my local dealer . Sure enough . The Tec drove the car . Good to go . Two and a half hours latter , done deal . The five gallons that came out were very dark in color , Dirty ! Six thousand miles , rare WOT, I was shocked . I post this to all owners with the A8 trans . Get this done if your keeping the C7 . I love my car . . respect and gratitude . dk. Next day update . Checked my onstar drive wise to see how the tec drove my car . Oh Yeh ! Three hard WOT. One panic stop . and a nice drip puddle of ATF under the car this morning . Special service from Ruddell Chevrolet ,Port Angeles WA.

Reason: update
Its up to your local dealership . Tell them its intermittent . Its called preventive maintenance . Fluid exchange bulletin 18-NA-355 . good luck .Mobil LV ATF HP.
Either way I did it at home and yes the color of the fluid made me think that YES it can't hurt to change it out. I just drained and filled it once. I will continue doing it every so often until I feel like the fluid is clean.
Going to change my diff fluid as well.

I just asked for it and got it done about 3 months ago... Guess it depends on the dealership. I was having no issues, but my 2019 had to old stuff and I wanted to the new.
The TB I used said "if customer complains do not drive the car, change fluid." I took the TB with me and showed it to Serv. Manager and he said OK make and appt. and will do it, not cost to me and changes much better and also get you a range device to keep car out of V4 mode where the shudder is most prevalent. Good luck to all getting it done.
I have had everything done to my '15 A8 that can be done including a new torque converter and TWO new transmissions (all under warranty thankfully). Next trans fluid change I plan to have the triple flush done with high performance fluid. Today while having my oil changed, I asked my advisor the cost of that. He said about $365.
I also contacted Dealer Service Manager and I texted him copy of service bulletin 18 NA 355. I told him my car has NO symptoms of shudder but I wanted new fluid in tranny for peace of mind and to know correct fluid is in tranny. I mention where on first page it stated if customer request no further diagnosis of problem is required. He said no problem. I made appointment and Triple Flush was done.

I don't know if I would have this done if I was experiencing no shudder whatsoever. "If it ain't broke". There are many A8s out there that have never had a shudder or any other issue. On the other hand the first time I sense the dreaded shudder I would have it done. Just my 2 cents.

Forgot to mention that in the original post he reports that the tech went for several wot runs and a panic stop. Also a puddle of trans fluid on his garage floor the next morning. I wouldn't go back to that dealership. There's no reason a tech should be driving your car like that for a trans flush. Another reason I wouldn't have this done unless it was necessary to fix the shudder.
After having the TSB completed for the trans shudder, I observed the next day some drips of transmission fluid on the garage floor. Investigation revealed this not to be from the transmission but from an adjacent crossmember, where drained fluid had accumulated and not been competely cleaned. Five minutes and a few paper towels later and the area was clean and dry. Sloppy work by the dealer tech but no real harm done and no transmision issues since.
Just want to add that while my 15z06 is a m7 do no issue there. My 16 Cadillac ct6 is An a8. Same trans as the c7 a8. I just had the triple f flush done at my Cadillac dealer no charge for the same exact reasons c7 owners do. I would say it cured about 90% of the problem. Much much better than before but not perfect. Which is pretty much what I expected. No charge from my dealer. All I did was show them the service bulletin and it was done.

Took my 19 LT3 @ 7,200 miles to my dealer. I was having the rumble strip feel through 5th gear and a rattling noise at idle in park. They did the TSB fluid change and road tested. Dealer calls, says something real bad has happened, wants me to see. Now I may have my directions crossed but this is what was explained. The car is on the lift and the tech is shining his flashlight through a port in the torque tube. He says, see that bearing, it has move along the driveshaft toward the flex plate. 7 working days later, new flex plate, bearings, couplers, and torque tube. It drives smooth now. Apparently, the bearing was not seated during assembly, or a bad torque tube. Wondering if others have experienced the same issues on their 19?
