I just changed out my air filter on my 2015. I was easy just followed the you tube videos. no problems the plastic tube isnt a problem just need to be careful

I can get to the filter but the hoses above the box are so tight I can’t remove it.

I left the coolant tubing in place, but did take the hood support loose on the passenger side in order to have room to move the air box around. Of course I removed the air baffle that connects to the air box and the throttle body. It worked for me.
If you are talking about the actual air box that bolts to the inner fender, You just need to pop the hood strut off where it connects to the hood. The air box will come right out after that.

It blows my mind that they made it this hard to get an air box out of this car.
You are just talking about the box the air filter goes in, RIGHT? Do you have a base model wet sump or a or Z51 or higher model with a dry sump engine? Because I think the dry sump engines have a couple of extra lines running by there that might get in the way, if that’s what your talking about.

That's what I did too.
Just like the CarGuy 11 video: Hood vent out, hose clamp at throttle body & air box, mass air flow sensor connector, one vent tube (on air baffle), two screws and it came right out. Once that oversized air baffle is out you have lots of room to work with, then access to the filter in the fender becomes wide open. It was more involved then other car's I've owned but not terrible... took maybe 10 minutes.
Follow the instructions found in the video. You do have to remove a series of screws along the upper cowl above the radiator. That will then allow you to remove the large air duct. Leave the small coolant hoses in place. After that everything should be in the open for you.
clusterone, do you mean the OEM filter? They've not used oiled filters for an eternity, if even then. Just buy a stock "dry" replacement and go on. Aftermarket are more hype than anything else unless you are doing serious engine modifications. All the best.

....when I got my new aFe CAI but just one added step, after watching video and getting tools out, I picked up the phone and called my mechanic to make an appt to have him install it.....procedure solved!

Hi Avanti,
Uh oh, I swapped to a USA Green Filter when I got the car, replacing the original. Went that route after researching K&N. Site says clean every 30k, but seems everyone performs maintenance tasks more frequently than "required". Is this one of those cases, or just let it be until noticable dirty or 30k is reached? Thanks!
