Hi all! I’m new to the forum. I bought a new 2019 three months ago. A few days after the purchase the remote start wouldn’t work until I got in and started the car with the ignition, turned it off, and then the remote start worked. I then took a road trip from South Florida to Oklahoma. Somewhere north of Birmingham, Alabama, I pulled into a truck stop and the car door wouldn’t open. I had to use the emergency lever to get out. THEN the gas door would not open even though the keys were attached to my belt loop. It took about three minutes for it to pop open. Later that night the alarm went off though there was no one around the car. The next morning I found my hatch was open. Luckily nothing had been touched in the car. I switched out remotes and again it would not start with the remote. My Onstar took me almost a hundred miles out of my way. Onstar told me they though it was a problem with the car not allowing communications. (I did not tell them I had the other problems) I’ve had it to two dealers and both have said there were no codes recorded. Has anyone else had or know anyone who have had similar issues? A third service manager told me he thinks it’s the main module but unless they have definitive proof of these issues they don’t want to do any repairs. Thanks for any help or ideas.
In the future, video ALL issues so that you will have proof of the problem(s.) Also, you may want to try the battery reset. Disconnect the positive cable for 30 min. Reconnect. Won't hurt to try. Also, assuming this is a used C7? Ask your local dealer for a service history and see if the previous owner had same issues.
You also need to have the battery load tested. It may be just strong enough to start the car but too weak to maintain other functions. Since your car is a 19 it may have sat on the dealer lot or in the showroom for extended periods without a battery maintainer attached. Hence, they would have jump started it a few times and that may have taken a toll on the battery life. Worth checking out if the disconnect and reconnect don't help.

Some thoughts
- RTFM
- Remote start: push lock and then hold start for 4 sec. Only 2 remote starts before the car must be started from the dash start button. There are some other restrictions
- Gas filler: DOORS must be unlocked. Fob in pocket does not matter
- Hatch open: Knee could have bumped the dash switch on exiting car or something in your pocket could have pushed fob button
- Door won't open when inside: if engine is still running or some other sequence of operation - need to use UNLOCK button on either door, then open the door
- Batteries work - then they don't. Weak / low batteries cause all kinds of gremlins
Thanks for the welcome! I hope to learn a lot from y’all. Thanks for the tips. I appreciate all of the responses.
I will have the battery checked. Also, videoing the problems Is a great idea. It will give me evidence of the issues. .
A new one just happened...the radio stayed on when I opened the door. I had to restart the car and shut it off to turn the radio off.
My car was bought new. I am adding more info for clarification:
While I was locked in I hit the lock/unlock buttons several times but the door wouldn’t unlock and the motor was off. Also, I started and shut off the motor twice before I pulled the emergency lever.
The reason I’m sure the hatch was closed was the alarm shouldn’t have gone off.
The gas door popped open about three minutes or so after I had quit trying to open it.
The remote start has worked perfectly many times other than these two times. Each time it was the first time I tried the remote start.
I’m really worried about all these gremlins as none of them seem connected.I will talk to my service adviser again on Monday. Again, thanks for all the help.

Reason: Add more info
Congrats and welcome! As previously stated, check the battery and try the reboot (disconnect for 30 minutes) Also, replace the batteries in the fob if you haven't already.

When I bough my '19 new last year I brought it home and put it on the charger that came with it. It charged for 2 days before going into trickle mode. No telling how long the dealer had the car and how many times the doors were opened and such. I'll bet the battery is the source of the problems.
Hey, thought I would post what Chevy finally figured out. They replaced the shifter module and cable. I have not had a reoccurrence since this was done. The mechanic told me that the car didn’t know if it was in park or drive. I have had several other issues such as when I tried to put it in park it snapped back into drive. The first time they acted like they didn’t really believe me and asked if I had pushed in the button when trying to shift it into park. I got kinda snotty and told him that “yes, I had and that this was not the first time I had driven a car”. Basically there were no notifications so I left. The next time I videoed it. They all said they had never seen anything like it. A few days after I had taken it in I called them and they told me I needed to let the car roll backward so that it would go into park. I told them I lived in freakin flat Florida and what was I suppose to do get out and push the car??? Needless to say I was irate. When I got over to the dealership I told the service manager I was going to become Chevy’s worst nightmare after being told such a ridiculous thing. They ended up keeping my car for two weeks and putting a bunch of miles on it without ever duplicating the problem. They used the “shotgun” effect...replacing a bunch of different things before they returned the car to me and since then no more mechanical problems.
