This is a damn good point! But which of these exhausts out of this list are compatible to operate the same way as the NPP?
I thought the stock NPP system was the only exhaust you could control with your mode selector, and aftermarket systems bypassed being able to use it like the stock exhaust works. I wouldn't want one I couldn't control.

I believe just about all the manufactures that offer exhausts for the Corvette offer an option that works with the existing NPP system to control sound level. I know for sure Corsa, Borla, and Billy Boat do and I think most others do also.

Not sure if you have checked out our systems already or not, but they will retain the factory NPP functionality.

We will tell you what we tell everyone looking for exhaust recommendations:

A) There is no 'best' exhaust system, just what is best for your needs. The sound and appearance of an exhaust system is largely subjective, so everyone is going to have a different opinion on what they like most. There are a number of quality manufacturers out there that you can't go wrong with; just choose the one that has the sound and features you are looking for.

B) Exhaust sound on the internet is much different than in person. This is why we recommend going to your local Corvette meet, cruise night, etc and listening to other people's cars firsthand to get the best idea of what sounds best. It's impossible to capture 100% of the sound and presence of exhaust in a YouTube video, unfortunately.

We hope that helps you some and we wish you good luck with your decision. If there are any questions we can answer, please don't hesitate to PM or call us at 1-800-990-0905.

How many systems does MF make for C7's, i keep seeing the ONE system but with the 2 different exhaust tips (black and chrome)?
I have Kooks headers on my car and kept my NPP system on due the feedback i kept hearing about MF exhaust for C7's is Godzilla Loud and was told (at Carlisle last year) that the MF exhaust COULD NOT be controlled by the mode selector inside the car, so I passed on it. I was trying to find an exhaust where it has a deep rumble in ALL GEARS, because with my NPP, it only offers that in 1-2-3rd gear, then shuts down when I go into 4th, but if stand on the gas, then it just erupts like a volcano and becomes ridiculously loud with no happy medium sounding rumble throughout all gears. My car exhaust sound goes from nice rumble > soft&quiet > race car loud.

I figured the S model would be right about threshold and the X pipe would take it across ....foe my tastes.
Having experienced this system for the last 3 months it has a “Chewbacca_esque” tone And excellent back pressure on letting off throttle at about 4-5k.
I will say while I am happy with the Borla decision 100%, they seem to have a sizable problem with packaging. I opted for the “Intercooled” tips in black, the first system the tips were all scratched ...so they sent me a second system....scratched . I opted to keep the 2nd system and have the tips powder coated rather than roll the dice again. I will say team Borla jumped in and covered that cost as well as the original costs of install.
Bets of luck
Had the same setup on a Cayman S and same experience. Wicked loud on start up, settled down nicely after ~ 1 minute, nice sound @ cruise/moderate RPM, great sound when I stomped on it and to die for gurgle on throttle lift @ higher RPM.

A friend added the same setup to her Mustang and gets the same result. Interesting it sounds so similar regardless the motor. Makes the choice easier once you hear one. Would add one to the C7 in a minute but I am sure WOT @ Lime Rock would get me pulled off the track with the ridiculous 86db limit.

Need another solution.

Hi,
For "First Stingray", I am assuming that you are coming from the stock base exhaust. If so, can you describe the differences between the stock base and the Corsa Sport i.e. how much louder is it, does it change the quality of the sound at 1/2 throttle, full throttle, any drone in the RPM range, ...?
Thanks,
Jason

Hello Jason,

The Corsa Sport axle back addition made the exhaust sound significantly louder and more pleasing than the base, non-performance exhaust. Looking back however, I wish I would have went with the Corsa Extreme. I currently have an AWE X pipe on order and am hoping that will get the exhaust note close to the Corsa Extreme level. With the Corsa Sport, there is absolutely zero drone that I can hear and it sounds really good during hard accel and downshifting. Of course another plus is how good the larger Corsa pipes look. If youre on the fence about getting one of the aftermarket exhausts, I would not hesitate to make the change. It will sound way better.

I was coming from a non NPP exhaust and installed the Corsa Sport system. For me it seems just about right as I did not want a really loud car that I could not tone down like the NPP. The Sport is quite a bit louder on cold starts for sure but then starts to calm down. Once you are cruising it pretty much almost sound stock, no drone. Get on it and it wakes up and sounds great. Nice burble on downshifts. I only wish each of the four tips exited the muffler like the NPP instead of one outlet going in to four tips but it’s a minor beef. The tips are beautiful and fill the space perfectly. One issue that I have seen with the Borla system is that they must be a lot harder to line up, because I see an awful lot of them around where the tips are not perfectly straight and my OCD would never allow me to sleep unless those tips line up perfectly. Corsa tip system is a one piece unit, so the only challenge is getting the horizontal alignment spot on.

I have installed the Corsa NPP cat back system with their X pipe. Love the flexibility to be able to change the sound BUT I love it when they are open and run it that way 99% of the time. With Corsa it has the perfect burbling sounds when downshifting!
