Default Gas pump problem

2017 GS Convertible 3LT Low Miles. I have a real problem pumping gas into my car. The gas handle keeps shutting OFF and it takes forever for a fill up. I have tried several gas stations with the same issue. It has to be the car. ???????????

Yes, the system does not work well when the nozzle is fully inserted. After fully inserting the pump nozzle, pull it out an inch or so until you reach a point where the pump will work without being cutoff.

While I’ve never experienced this issue, many have and the above comment seems to be the remedy.

I had the same problem and posed the question to this group - they gave me the answer....
Turn the nozzle sideways, about 45 degrees.

You will come across a pump where it does work normally, possibly even in the same gas station.

This or turn the nozzle upside down. Every now and again I have this problem, so I just rotate the nozzle and it fills fine.

Just go to a different pump, there is one pump at gas station near me that just will not stay on no matter what - it keeps clicking off.

We’ve had this issue a few times at a few pumps, but most seem to work fine. No idea why the difference. As posted, backing the nozzle out of the fill door approximately one inch seems to allow normal filling.

We trudge on.

The problem is the nozzle. The hole in the end is damaged. That is what controls the flow back.

Some gas stations it does it some dont, dont know why. Typically pull the nozzle out a bit or turn it side ways. Sometimes it'll still do it.

All good suggestions and have seemed to work. I have not had the problem on my car, but I do not place the nozzle fully into the filler pipe.

Not arguing the suggestions but want to warn that there is a CHANCE using these techniques COULD cause the pump to not shut off & fuel pouring out the filler opening. It’s done it to me a couple of times dumping fuel on the ground & my shoes. I would NEVER walk away while filling up these ways in case pump doesn’t shut off as designed. JMO 😎

I have this issue everywhere (unless I implement one of the methods above) except at a costco. So, if you have Costco near you try there...great fuel and a great price.

As noted, a common issue with some pumps and not others. And, not limited to any given year C7, happens with my '18 and never with my ol' C5--'01 (yes, I still have it). Simply go elsewhere when you can. (just contemplate your cool car while waiting for it to fill) .
