Thanks for the interest in this poll. It was set up to only run for 5 days so it didn't linger. The results are far closer than I thought they would be. I was betting on a landslide for Chrome, but as my son predicted there are a lot of people that do like the black. While I feel too old for black wheels, I’m not too old to learn. I'll keep using both. Thanks to those who participated. Love the opinions and pics. Beautiful cars – no matter your wheel style. We’re privileged to have them. Corvette Strong!
[QUOTE=Always Red Dave;1602301080]Is their even another option on the C7 Corvette besides Black Wheels!!! [/QUOTE
Yes there is. It however depends on the color of the car and the trim imo. Your red car with all black trim and black wheels looks great. Imo the black cars or grey cars look good both ways. Only thing is with black wheels the detail on the wheels are lost. From a distance and in pictures it just looks like a slab of black on the wheel well. Again certain cars black looks better and certain cars the chrome or grey looks better. No one answer here.
Chrome if you really want the exterior to pop. Black if it makes you feel like you are in with the latest fad.
I'd hardly call black wheels a 'fad' it's been around for a long time.
When black wheels started becoming mainstream, I actually didn't like them, but they grew on me. At this point I prefer black wheels though chrome ones look awesome on certain cars. The difference is that the black wheels are much more subdued while the chrome wheels are much more in your face. To each their own.
Chrome is NOT available on the C8 if that’s any indication of it’s popularity or from any of the Euro sports car manufacturers either if I’m not mistaken.
I prefer chrome but don't have a problem with black wheels on the right car. My 19 GS came with black wheels and I did not like them with the Ceramic Grey. I like the machine faced look and bought new set of those for it.
Doesn't make any difference to me, but my car came with chrome. All I can say is that this is the first car I have had where strangers come up to me and the first thing they say is "Those wheels are amazing!" I may switch to some black ones on the next set I buy just for a change.
Hated Black on photo's. Black is Blah...
Till I saw this car in person.
It Sported the typical GM POS Satin Black
Switching to a Forgeline is so Huge in many ways.

GM is relying on the C8 to attract younger buyers, aiming the car at the less than superannuated. The lack of a chrome wheel option is a deliberate move in this direction; this is not your grandfather's car. As Tadge stated, chrome wheels will not be available on the C8 so as to attract a younger audience. Perhaps the average age of the Corvette buyer will drop below 60 with the introduction of thje C8.
And no, European sports cars do not come with chrome wheels. The are often black wheels, other times grey.
IMO the gloss black Z06 wheels are hands down the best looking OEM wheels for the c7, the chrome z06 wheels are the 2nd best looking I think.
Like many other posters have said it does depend on the color of the car. Black wheels look best with most colors, but on some shades of the grey and on the Long beach red as well as the black rose I actually prefer chrome on those colors of car. If the car is red, white, yellow, blue, orange I think the black z06 style is the winner for those.
