Ahem...back to the voltage discussion. I am new to Corvettes and picked up my slightly used C7 (11K miles) this past New Year's Eve. So, I was concerned that my C7 may still have the OEM battery. Well, after some digging on the interweb, I figured out the codes and that my AC Delco Professional Gold (non-AGM) was purchased sometime last year. I have read here on the forum that the C7 is an electricity hog, so I purchased a battery tender and 100% plug it up while parked in my garage. Then, I started watching the digital voltmeter in the DIC and am shocked to see that it often reads about 8 volts (with the engine off). Voltages seem to be quite normal while driving--in the 13 to 14.5 volt range. The lights on the trickle charger seem to work as intended. Concerned about the 8 volts with the engine off, I grabbed my multi-meter today and went straight to the battery after unplugging the trickle charger. I got 13.9 volts. My question is, why the big discrepancy? The engine cranks strongly and I have no electrical gremlins. Anyone else run into this? Where is the DIC voltmeter reading the voltage? Is it reading electrical load or actual system voltage?

Thanks in advance for your input,
