When I took delivery from Carvana on my 2019 low mileage Corvette 20900
I went over this Corvette in every detail only problem I had was smelled like smoke .
Talked to Carvana they agree to reimburse me the 79.00 for this unit '
Ran it inside the corvette for 30 minutes with the AC on to clean all ducts .
This worked great took all odors out no smoke .
This is the first time I heard of this hotels use them when people smoke .
I can now smell the leather seats .You have to careful not to breath this and let car air out good .
A couple of years ago I ran across an article that discussed smoking related issues. The article indicated that cigarette smoke permeates the fabrics and soft materials of a car’s interior which can pollute the air in the car long term.
My friend had a bar and he used a commercial-grade ozone ionizer I guess it's called. I had a residential-grade Homedics unit. Had a used car I got after a year's ownership by another. Car was excellent with leather but I tried probably 6 different things including cleaning the headliner, seats with lexol, all carpet with shampoo, airing it out in garage, outside in the sun, leaving a large tray of baking soda and closing the car up, Febreze, Ozium, etc. Nothing worked.
Then, I decided to use my ozone ionizer (low power) in the car, close it up and just let it run at low speed (very low, fan barely working) for about a few hours.
Came back, opened and still smelled a little of the penetrating cigar smoke, but much lighter. Closed it up and let it run another few hours. Smell all gone. I think, next to a dead body which just doesn't seem to go away, cigars are the most "aromatic" retained smell in a car. I can't imagine a pro ozone machine like the one in the first post.
Thanks for the posts, sure some on here will benefit from it and it makes be glad my C7 doesn't stink.
I was wondering, some complain of the strong adhesive and plastics smell some new C7s have that seems to linger on and on, will this help there?
My wife was a heavy smoker and when we decided to sell our house I bought one and ran it several times before we listed the house and all the smoke odor was gone. You basically run it and leave for a few hours as it is not good for humans or pets but they do get the job done.

so you just let idle for 30 mins then? Where did you place the Ozone machine? I am going to order one for my C7 as I just cannot get the previous owners smoke smell out of it.
Right on arm rest between seats .
Place foam that came in box under it '
Turn on AC ,Set or 30 minutes That should do it .
Did a wipe down first and vacuum , get all air freshers out
Don't breath any time open door's stay away let air out
I bought one of these machines a few years ago to get rid of the cigarette smoke smell in an older Lexus that was smoked in for years. It took a good 2 or 3 hours of running the machine along with a full interior cleaning, but you would never know that the car was smoked in after I was done with it.
I ran mine for 25 minutes don't know what the drawbacks could be longer periods of time .
Not to mention this Corvette is new don't want to push it
Great improvement i got seven days to send Corvette back .
They are not getting this Corvette back it hard to find them with low ,low mileage
