Default memory seats

I have a 2016, Z51, 3LT Convertible. My Memory Seats have worked great for the 5 years I've had it. All of sudden they do not work. I have read the manual but I do not have a degree in Physics. I would hope someone here could help me re-set it so seat go all the way back and the steering wheel goes up when I open the door....

Make sure the seat isn't all the way back. I've read where that causes a problem.

There is a good video by That Cute Ginger on you tube . Here what she says to do .

1 start car
2 go on screen open settings go to vehicle then comfort setting.
3 auto memory turn off
4 back out to easy exit setting turn off
5 set seat and steering wheel to where you want for driving press driver 1or 2 and set at same time.
6 then set steering wheel in up position and move seat all the way back then forward 1/2 inch then press set and exit buttons at same time
7 go back to screen and turn on easy exit and then turn on auto memory select on driver door open.
8 shut off car and re enter and start car and see if all setting work.

Just remember do not set seat all the way back bring it forward 1/2 inch if it's all the way back it won't set.

I would have posted link but haven't figured out how to do that yet ! lol

Here ya go. Pay particular attention to posts #1 and #3. The problem lies in trying to set the position in the furthest rearward position. When I picked up my 19 GS at the Corvette Museum they specifically told me you cannot set the position all the way back. There must be at least 1 inch of play then set this position. Here, check it out. Forget about Ginger.

Don’t mean to sound super negative here, but don’t be surprised if you can’t restore your memory seat function to normal. A little after 3 years my ‘15 started to have an issue where the driver’s side mirror would drive fully down when using the “Easy Exit.” After the dealer spent many hours trying to troubleshoot this by replacing everything related including the memory seat module, I would up cutting the signal wire for the mirror up/down. This isn’t too common, but there are a few in the community having issues.

You can also lift the carpet behind the seat to expose the limit pressure switch and disconnect it by pulling the single wire connector at the bottom. Just make sure you don't jam the seat into the rear bulkhead when resetting the seat position.

You are having a common programming issue; the horizontal motor moves faster than the up and down, so if your seat exit position is up (or down) and back, the seat will run into the limit switch before the up motor can move the seat away from the limit switch.

Good luck, enjoy the ride..

FYI, ginger girl video is on a 2014 car, memory settings changed in 2015 and up..

One of the really stupid features of this car. Great car, very poor user interface. I need the seat all the way back, would even like another inch. Dont use memory, pulled the pressure switch wires.
