Call me crazy but I not only enjoy driving my 2019 Grand Sport but I love to detail her as well. After hand washing her I hand paste wax her using McKees 37 trademark wax, then use Mckees High gloss detailer then finish with Adams polish Slick and slide. As far as I can see there isnt a ceramic coating that beats how my GS looks and I love doing it
Looks awesome, and it did not cost you much to get the look of perfection. Well done!
You haven't looked hard enough. Check out Loki6's ride. Ceramics are superior to any paste wax. There are professional forensic detailers that use expensive electronic sensors that can measure and quantify levels of paint gloss that were covered with many coatings including ceramics, sealants, and waxes. Guess what comes out on top of them all?
Methinks you really can't distill gloss, a rather subjective quality, down to something so singular as 'best' in all aspects.
Sure, you can put a gloss meter on the surface and applaud the coating that has 99 GU's vs the wax that only registers 92 GU's but all that shows is what the Gloss Unit specifically measures, which appears to be reflectivity for the most part. What about depth, always a stong suit of a great carnauba? Softness or sharpness of the surface? The oft-cited "dripping wet" look many seek?
The instrumented testing defines but one area, makes for good YouTube content but doesn't nearly capture the entire enchilada of a preferred appearance. As always, YMMV.
Ceramic makes your car look clean when it's dirty IMO. I've done it to all my cars and will never go back to the traditional ways.
Honestly sure it repels the dirt better than not having it in there but if you rub your finger over the surface you will get back a black dirty finger I promise you. There’s still a layer of dirt sitting on top of the finish. There was those that will say meh I just rinse that off no soap and it’s perfect. It’s hardly perfect and still dirty. It still requires some sort of soap mild or order wise. Ceramic isn’t some sort of magic shield line on a star ship on Star Trek lol. For the price people pay for it in some parts of the country you would expect it to be lol.

don’t try this......you can thank me later. Try the Griots 3 in 1 ceramic coating. Simple to apply and results are stunning....but again it’s not a true ceramic coating.
I used Griots too until trying Turtle Wax ceramic. Much easier to apply and is great for windshield
I had a full paint correction followed by the application of a ceramic coating on my BLACK 'Vette about a year ago. The car is not my daily driver, so paint protection film was a bit excessive in my opinion and I could not justify the cost of a full PPF wrap.
My local guy used Gtechniq's 9 year product and I couldn't be happier. It does a great job and keeps the paint looking like a mirror. I get complements all the time, and have actually had people tell me "the black on your car looks....more black than usual"
Ceramic coatings are really impressive. I am getting my (new to me) daily drive- a 9 year old Lexus SUV- coated. If I'm ever running late but have dirty car, running over it with a pressure washer gets me 90% of a car wash. It won't be as good and still have water marks (because, don't dry it as there is still dirt on it), but it at least gets it "good enough to valet" clean.
There's a lot of hype about brands. All the goods ones are more or less the same IMO. They last 4-5 years and repel a lot of dirt and water and prevent swirl marks.

I recently applied The Last Coat ceramic to my three cars. I clay barred them and then applied two coats of The Last Coat. Extremely easy to apply and a beautiful finish on all. Seem to be holding up well, too.
