Only Mercedes that I have owned was a ‘00 M320. Traded a ‘99 C5 in on it and a year later got rid of the Mercedes for a ‘00 C5. The Mercedes just didn’t do it for me and granted, it was not a car.
Getting close to decision time! I went and test drove the grand sport again at lunch today, definitely rides a bit rougher now that I'm use to the mercedes I've had overnight, however that v8 rumble in sports mode is pretty awesome and had the top down as it's nice and sunny today! Do any of the other 2LT or 3LT c7s have adjustable side bolsters? I find them a little bit narrow, but not too bad. I might have to flip a coin here! haha!
Speaking of back problems. Think ahead for the day when your back goes out and you have to get into the Vette to get to the chiropractor! Falling into it isn’t so bad but you might need an engine hoist to get out.
Another thing to consider....if they're similarly priced, I would take a look at the service departments at each dealer that you'd use.
The worst service at most Benz dealerships is still 2 stars better than the average Chevy dealer. When I had my Benz E550, I never got less than an E350 when I needed service....or even an oil change.
At my Chevrolet servicing dealer, no loaners for the Vette...no matter what reason the car was in....and also, so many times I had to wait for "Corvette Specialist" to come in....3 days a week for him. 😡 Amazingly enough, there were nonstop loaner cars when I needed service on my Volt. Same dealership....
But I think you would enjoy the E450 as the better daily driver. Back issues....plus, as a single guy, you need to plan for the possibility of picking up 2 dates...😁🤪
You can't go wrong with either one.
Good Luck!

I really don’t have any experience with an Mercedes so can’t help you much there, but I do love my ‘17 vert Z06 M7, and also have chronic lower back pain. (I can always pick out a fellow retired electric lineman). FWIW I make myself do one and a half miles on my treadmill most every day (speed and time lengths vary). This truly helps my back, better than any other exercise or therapy. But my suggestion is to buy the manual trans convert as the clutch pedal is exercise for your leg, back and brain, and with the top down it’s a lot easier to get in and out of. Just sayin Not tellin

Ok quick question. I’ve been reading the threads on the bent wheel issues and saw that class action lawsuit that was filed. Strange when I went to drive the car at lunch today the front right tire was at 24, and stayed there when I took it out. The salesman said it’s fine just from the weather swing being cold at night at warm now. Could this possibly be from the wheel issue?

I have a 3Lt and I can adjust the side bolsters. When I am on a twisty road I adjust them.

Yes, you could have a cracked wheel which is losing air. Bring it back up to pressure and keep an eye on it.
I’m going back in the morning to test drive the grand sport again will see if the air stayed in the tire, i didn’t even think about the wheel cracking issues. Hopefully it was just low from weather change and sitting on the lot for a bit. Will see!
There have also been reports the air stays in the tire fine when the car is sitting, but leaks out when driven as the tire/wheel flexes. An annoying issue.
Well I decided to hold off on the e450 coupe, if I did decide to go with a benz it will be the c63s coupe. Is there a comfort difference in the 1LT and 2LT Grand Sport seats? Maybe the side bolsters are adjustable? Not sure if they would adjust wider than the 1LT seats in their permanent position. When I test drove the grand sport again Friday I felt like the seats are a bit firmer than my C6 seats were, although I imagine after driving it for a few days you get use to them? This was going right from driving my silverado LTZ to the car so of course so probably just the seat adjustment from one to the other.
Just got this 2019 SL450 about 3 months ago. Ride and comfort compared to my 17 GS... no comparison. The Mercedes ride is unlike any car I've owned. The hardtop/convertible option is hard to beat, and the interior is superb. 362 hp TT V6. Not Corvette fast, but fast!

I have driven the C63S coupe and I gotta say that it was awesome. The only Corvette I'd get over it would be a ZO6....and it would still be very tough to get me in the Vette. But I am sure there are price differences and model year variables that you havent mentioned.
