The GM Nav Disc Center does show the latest version as 2022, thanks for mentioning that. I just ordered one.
Although we have two Garmins and two cellphones with GoogleMaps/AppleMaps/Waze, for most uses I prefer the factory nav with the better graphics and HUD instructions.
None of them are perfect.
We drive all over the US and Canada, I'm willing to spent the money to get the more recent maps.
The on-line instructions for installing the 2022 version are now very specific about keeping the car in Park and not moving it during the installation, lest your system be damaged.
I also have a 2019 C7 and wondered about the map update. You did experience a change or something new with the update? I just figured mine was close enough. Thanks
PS I also noticed it was V.2022 now.
The road on which I live was missing from the original map database, despite it being in-place for about five years. While I know my way around, my OCD didn't like that it was missing and showed the car proceeding "off-road" when departing from or returning to my neighborhood.
I don't recall and changes in functionality or look & feel, aside from some previously missing roads (like mine) being added.
I was debating the value of this but went ahead and ordered it after using the unupdated 2014 version to cross town today. Amazing the number of road changes that have occurred since the maps for the 2014 version were create (probably based on 2012 data).
Don't think I'll update the car for AA as I can always use my phone in AA mode, if needed, and the infotainment system lets me play music from the phone via bluetooth...
