My 2019 GS has heated side view mirrors. I don't ever plan on needing them. This morning I had to scrape the frost off of the side view mirrors on my 2017 Chevy Colorado Z71. It didn't come with heated mirrors. I hope it is a mild winter.
My GS is in the garage for winter. My 18 Sierra sits outside but does have the heated mirrors. Plus for the bitter cold days the heated seats and heated steering wheel are nice also !
The heated side mirrors help in other ways. On foggy mornings they will dispel the fog off the mirrors. When it is raining and the mirrors have a lot of water on them turning on the heaters helps reduce the water droplets so you can see to the rear. I have had to use the mirror heaters and rear window defogger on cool mornings in the summer when at a track event. The rear window defogger is quite a heater. Once it has been on for a while you can feel the heat coming off it.
We have the Sandyeggo wide-angle outside mirrors on our C7, they just stick on top of the factory mirrors and cover the factory mirror glass completely.
As a result, the heated mirror and auto-dim on the driver side don't work.
So far, the big increase in visibility is worthwhile tradeoff for me. (yes, I know how to adjust mirrors) The wider angle view makes headlights behind us at night, look smaller so the auto-dim is not needed.

I have those Sandyeggo mirrors as well and the blind-side mitigation is well worth the loss of heated mirrors.
