Ok, got a weird problem with my key fob. After setting overnight, my key fob won't unlock my door. If I unlock the trunk first then the key fob will open the door ,anyone got an answer on my C/7 vert.
The C7 key fobs eat batteries like no other fobs I have owned. Probably only get about two years out of each battery. And the fobs act goofy when the batteries get low. You can press the fob buttons and the functions work. But then the car does not see the fob when you try to start the car. And if you stick the fob in the "fob slot" on the steering column, the car will see it even though the battery is low.
As others said - change the fob batteries.
FYI - I measured the battery in my fob that was working goofy. It was at 2.86 volts. That is not terribly low for a 3 volt battery. The new battery was only 3.15 volts. But all the problems went away with the new battery.

OK, here goes I am a watch maker and I change boat loads of watch batteries each week. and some times I get car fobs to change the batteries in. When I do them the customers complain they have to go back to the dealer to get the fob recoded.

Dude, I'm telling you straight up, you can change the battery in the FOB and never need to see the dealer. If they are going to the dealer, they have other issues but it isn't relacing the FOB battery that caused the problem. You can get bad batteries out of the box, you can put them in upside down but just a simple battery replacement does NOT require any programming.
This information that I am giving is for the Corvette. Other cars are other cars and I don't know jack squat about them. I DO know about the C6 and C7 Corvette FOB.

If you have a voltmeter, a new 3V fob battery reads around 3.3V. Once it gets anywhere below 3V, car response is flaky.
An oddity I have run into is off-brand batteries can measure fine, but not work due to minute size irregularities. They appear to fit but do not make adequate contact. Thus I stick with brand name batteries for the fobs.
Assuming you have two fobs, do they both act the same way? If so, better check the cars battery. You should have at least 12.7 volts. More would be better....
