Not really a problem but just bugs me. Every couple of weeks A CEL pops up. Print out shows bank 1 O2 sensor lean to rich. Make appointment for repair, and light goes out after couple days. Have been told bad gas, have been told driving habits, have been told low fuel. Only use top tier fuel, never go below 1/4 tank. Anyone else have this problem. I have an 18 convertible with 48k on the clock.
Next time the CEL comes up, drive to the dealership and let them see it. They probably will not be able to fix it, but they can at least scan it to see what the issue is.
I agree with Tommy but even if it turns off by the time you get there it should still show the history of it coming on and hopefully it will give them a clue to why its coming on.

^^^^ This.
The light might go off but there is a history code in the ECM. Sounds like you have a bad O2 sensor. Sounds like the dealer is guessing and doesn't want to put in a new sensor.
I'd also guess the sensor is on the verge of failure. Or possibly a chafed wire to that sensor. How much gas you have in the tank has zero bearing on the car's air/fuel ratio. Even if it did, it would affect both banks.
Wonky sensor, wire, and/or connector are most likely culprits. One would think it would be saved in history, but I've seen times nothing was... for whatever reason and the dealer had to actually see the CEL in person. One reason it may be good to have ones own cheapo code-reader, to possibly (though not guaranteed) to get a better indication of what's really going on. All the best.

I agree with the others about the history code telling the mechanic where to look. However, did you take it to the dealer after the CEL turned off or did you cancel the appointment?
I've taken it to the dealer 3 times, light was on when they did the scan, always came back left bank 02 sensor lean to rich. Dealer made an appointment for me each time but light was off by appointment time. Was given a different excuse each time, bad gas, driving habit, low fuel, etc. I'll just put up with it until it completely fails. Thanks for thbe reply's.
