Checking part numbers seems like a good start.
Of course, ZR1 shocks might be compatible but not identical.
And the years difference might or might not mean anything.
Best of luck to you...
Yes, they are the same; depending on the manufacture lot (for C7 Corvette), they could have a different part number but they are still the same. The difference between ZR1 and Z51 (or Z06) is in the suspension (MRS) module.
I'm guessing you are changing yours out because one of your socks is blown and not because you think this is a performance upgrade?

No, because my 14 C7 Z51 MSRC shocks have 92K miles on them. They're shot. I need to change them out for low mileage used ones, not to upgrade. I have a line on 19 ZR1 shocks with MSRC with 1,700 miles on them. I'm trying to figure out if they're compatible with my MSRC shocks on my 14 Stingray with Z51 so I can changed them out.
Mag Ride shocks were previously claimed to be "good for the life of the car."
I think GM has given up that fiction, considering the number of C6 and C7 failures now.
On the C7, they are just another part that fails sometimes. We had all 4 replaced on our 2017 Z51 at about 20k miles. Two were really bad, two were leaking but perhaps serviceable; the dealer replaced all 4 under warranty. When we went to buy an extended warranty, the GM (Chevrolet Protection Plan) covered any shocks, but the similar Ally plan did not. Guess which one we bought...
Not sure if the Ally plan is still that way.
They'll physically bolt in place. It would not surprise me if the valving (actually the orifice) is different, much like the Z07 shocks vs the FE6 MRC shocks on the non-Z07 GS and Z06 cars.
You're attempting to install shocks from a car that was ~100lbs heavier over the nose due to the supercharger, added coolers, etc than your car. Pretty fair chance the shocks are different from a tuning perspective.
Bottom line...will they bolt in? Yes. Will they "work"? most likely sort of. It depends on how sensitive you are to ride as to whether they're ok or not. I think it's very telling that no one has said "yes, I installed them and they were fine". My takeaway is to find somewhere else to save money.
No, 92,000 miles and the ride has become rough and noisy, with clunks over bumps..
Maybe not the shocks then but the various links and mounts? There are several rubber bushing in the control arms and subframes that once blown out will creak and clunk.
