IMO knowing who did the work and what parts the repair entailed would be important... if only skin panels were damaged and replaced, that would be less a worry than if wheels or suspension parts were replaced...
I need some advice, I am looking into buying a different color vette and I found one but it was involved in a minor accident. I looked at the carfax and it says that the vehicle was side swiped and that it had minor damage to the right front side and rear side of the car. The vehicle is at a dealership but I haven't spoken to them but I wanted to get some feedback first before I contacted them, I know that it's my decision but has anyone had any experience with a vette that was in a minor accident and repaired or should I just stay away from a vehicle like this, any feedback would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
What poster didn't disclose is the details, year, model millage and of course price. At some price point a hit car is worth considering, but for me it would have to be wholesale or slightly lower
It's a car! It is not a trophy, shrine or an idol....although some my think so. It's nothing more than overpriced transportation to get you from point "A" to point "B". You can not hammer out dents as with metal cars, you must replace the body panel(s) and repaint to match, no big deal. Minor issues are just that, MINOR issues, fix it and move on. As long as the tub (frame), and suspension tie points haven't been molested and any way, the car is as good as gold. Use the accident to knock the price down and drive it knowing you got a great deal! Enjoy the ride!
