Test drove a 2016 z06 yesterday,,probably something I was missing but the doors would not open from the inside or outside with the engine running. The car was parked in neutral parking brake set and doors would not open,, shut the car off and wa la doors work.
is that normal ?
There are settings under "convenience then doors" ... You can change that to let you open doors when car is in park or neutral for M7 trans.
Lots of settings for many things. Look in your owners manual or just do Like I did and play around with it to set all your preferences.
Regarding this... there is a emergency manual release level on the floor between the door sill and the seat. The C7 has an electronic switch on the door with the physical lock mechanism inside the car. Look closely at the door jam - the striker is on the door while the latch is on the car. This is pretty much the opposite of how every other vehicle on the planet works (aside from a handful of exotics).
Normal all depends. in MY 2019 the doors will unlock when you put the A8 into park, whether the engine is running or not. M7 cars will only unlock the doors when the engine is turned off per the manual. Annoying, but I've not found any setting to change this.
