I have only gotten 13.4 mpg for the first 500 miles of my 14 z51. It’s been a fun 13.4 haha but should be higher correct? I do performance shifts often and like to play around is that just mileage it should get when driving spirited? Also whats eco mode do shut off 4 cylinders at low rpms for road trips? Not that I really care about mpg or would of got a Prius but curious.
MPG is totally up to you and your right foot. I can get in the 30s with my A6 on the highway. 17+ is my average in city driving. Much less can be easily achieved with a stomping right foot.
I’ve driven my 2018 m7 stingray from oregon to Sacramento California twice. All freeway, speeds or above, using cruise, no eco mode. And high was 38, low 26, average being 32. The more spirited the lower the mileage. It all revolves around the right foot!
It's pretty amazing how many MPGs you can get out of these high performance cars if you really try. Personally, as long as it runs great, MPG doesn't really concern me. Of course if it were my daily driver and I put a lot of miles on it I may have a different view.
You were that "spirited" , hard accelerations the first 500 mi. ?

Ummm, just a thought...
He's talking about a 2014 and today is 500 miles? I think it might be a "new to him" 2014 and I'm guessing that the first 500 mile break-in happened 7 years ago back in 2014. I'm going with that logic and only because I'm old and it's all I got!

If you drive the car in a spirited manner, you’re not going to get a great MPG return. I average around 16-17 in town (with occasional spirited driving) and 26-27 out in the highway in my ‘14 A6.
If you want to know what is possible, go easy on the gas pedal for a tank of gas and then you will have your answer.

Ok thanks sounds about right. The 500 miles was largely in city traffic too and then having fun on highway. I see mpg goes up a lot if reset and just cruise on the highway.
Don't really know for sure and it really doesn't matter because it's not my daily driver. Don't think the tank has ever been less than 1/2 full yet because I automatically refill it after taking it out for a drive which is usually about a 100 mile loop w/about 6-7 gallons of gas which works out to about 14 mpg.
PS: If I was really "worried" aboutg MPG, I'd buy/lease another Prius or Bolt. I owned/leased 2 Priuses and 1 Bolt. Great mileage but really BORING cars. LOL!
I’m not really concerned with MPG since the car only sees about 3K ish miles per year
I tend to use frequency of fill up as a metric to see how my mileage has been going. Since the pandemic, I’m filling up once a month to maybe every three weeks.
My 1LT is THE gas millage champion in my driveway. Can get better millage than my wife's Kia Optima 4 banger. Always gets better millage than my truck too (Toyota Tacoma.)
Just like others.... you millage will vary and really, I could care less what the millage is on my C7 or my C3. Just drive and enjoy them.
When people tell me I am wasting energy with my C7 (not frequent by the way as most are going oooh and ahhh), I show them the photo of the instrument cluster taken as I averaged more than 30 mpg at 80 mph.
I haven't driven my C7 in a long while but the C6 that I owned for 10 years and 6,500 miles was a lot of fun... the best I got for MPG was 13.4. My Carrera S is a gas hog but who cares? Not me...
