Mad*Max you are right on with that. I just pulled the whole interior out of my 19 GS to do sound deadening/insulation and found my wife's watch. We and both look under and around the seat several times. But at least she has an extra watch now.
I did the same thing, you don't have to remove anything, just tuck it in there... a plastic trim pry tool will help. I ran mine further back and under the console lid where it hinges.

I have a WeatherTech Cup Phone holder. Sometimes I just cram the thing in the center console and let it ride there. The Bluetooth connection to the connection to the car works great so I do not to see and "fondle" the phone at all.

These magnetic, flexible, lighted "grab-it" tools are very handy for retrieving things that get dropped or wedged between seats. Less than $10. I dropped my battery hold down bar down between my skid plate and oil pan the other day on my Tacoma. I snaked this tool down in there and snatched it right up.
