Any of you guys have your cell phone slide out of your left pocket down into the seat between the door. Man, thats a mother to get out. Forget trying to get your hand back there. Its super tight, even with the door open.
It happened to me twice, but the phone came out of the belt clip on my left hip.
I was able to retrieve it by moving the seat forward or backward (can't remember which) while watching from outside to be sure that the seat didn't crush the phone.
Besides being a convenience, I consider the phone to be a piece of emergency equipment that I prefer to keep attached to my body.
Since I use the factory Nav to find my way, the voice/steering wheel controls to run the phone, and a thumb drive with my music behind the screen; it's easy for me to keep the phone on my belt.

I lay my phone on the console over the cup holder area - it has a soft rubber case in it and does not scratch or slip around the console. But I have had my phone call down beside the driver’s seat on my DD and yes, it is pain to get back out.
It seems there are two parts. Do you need a magnet, and if so, what did you get?
I use a ProClip as well. And yes there are two parts. One is the C7 specific vehicle mount, the other is a holder designed for your particular phone model, IE: iPhone X slim case with Lighting cable. They offer a magnet mount too so you have several options for the phone part.
I open the door on the cup holder. My phone fits perfectly in that recessed area and does not shift around while driving.
Same here. Works well. My son constantly drops his on the passenger side and always complains about how hard it is to get to. (some people never learn)
Man, I must be simple minded. I connect it to the cable out the back of the console and place it in the back cargo area. "Hey Google" gives me all the features I want. In the military we say, KISS, Keep it Simple Stu.....

Nope, as have never carried my cell phone while driving my GS as it's too important and pleasurable an event to be distracted by a cell phone.
I took the top of the console off and removed that popup thingy. Lined the area under the opening w/ sticky back black felt. Now I have a nice rectangular spot for my phone to sit in. It is not a place to throw change and small stuff but it's perfect for my phone.
A word of warning, don't drop anything on the other side of the seat (console side) because it ain't coming out, it just disappears like getting swallowed by a black hole.
I dropped my keys once, I spent three days looking but could not find them.
Eventually one month later after doing some spirited driving I found them behind the driver's seat
