I have a 2019 GS. I had problems getting SanDisk flash drives to work. Here's what I bought and it fixed my problem. Works great. Bought 32gb flash drive from Amazon for $7. I suggest you stay with a 32gb at first. Its probably sufficient for your music needs. Probably will hold 8,000 - 10,000 songs. It's already FAT32 so you do not have to worry about formatting. (Larger capacity than 32gb will require formatting.) I use the center armrest console usb port. This is a "nano size" flash drive so it's hardly noticeable. Brand: Verbatim.
I have Sirius radio and was going to cancel it on my '16 because I don't drive it enough to justify the $16/mo. I called them to cancel it and they dropped it to $7/mo on all three of my vehicles! It's only for a year but that is a lot of money! $21 vs $39/mo for three vehicles.

I have 128 GB Flash drives in all my cars and have had them for some time. I usually Bluetooth off my phone, but I like having the entire CD collection on the USB sticks available, especially if I'm listening to like a single band (my phone is on a rotating shuffle playlist of various CDs based on my mood and I don't change it to another playlist, ever).
I had some issues with the SanDisk sticks that are "plastic" instead of "metal" for the USB stick part (the thing you stick in the USB A port).
