Have been looking for a little while to buy a used C7. Within my price range I see lots of 2014's, much fewer 2015-2017's. Any guidance on which year is more reliable would be very much appreciated. Have read about first model year issues with the 2014 plus that year only having A6, but have also read that 2015 and later have A8 issues. Guess I'm asking if one of those years, particularly 2014, sticks out as one to avoid? Thanks in advance.
I have a 2014 & for sure if you are not looking for a z06 the 2014 is the best if you are looking for a auto trans. I have had no problems at all other than if you get one on the overheating on the fans. Robert

Thanks Robert. Not looking for Z06, kind of like the Z51 package with LT2 trim. Sounds like you have had good experience with your 2014.

I have had my 2014 for a little over 2 years - has been a very reliable car. Read the reports here on the forum - the 2014 has not had many first year of a new generation problems.
My '14 is still serving me well. No issues other than a fan controller on the early models. Easily corrected if it happens. I would buy this car again.

My 2014 C7, non-z51, 1LT, M7, came off the assembly line 7 years ago yesterday (Purchased 4/24/2014). No problems, but I only have 21,500 miles on it, so that plays in it too. Complied with several recalls and did a preemptive battery purchase last year. If it's a babied 2014, you'll likely be fine with an early model.

Buy any year C7 you want with any transmission. Yes the A8 used to have problems, but ever since GM came out with the new fluid in early 2019, the number of complaints, issues reported here is down to a crawl and many of those can be corrected with a triple flush at a GM/Corvette dealer. Cost is about $600. You might want to check the GM warranty/service record for the Corvette you're buying, especially if it's an A8 because many have already been triple flushed. In addition, you can buy a Range device that prevents the A8 engine from going into V4 mode which seems to be the cause of the A8 problems. Many A8 owners will tell you their transmission is great with one or both of those changes. Also, from a performance perspective, the A8 is the best transmission for stop light grand prixs.
I have an M7, 2014, Z51 and I'm very satisfied with it. As others have said, the 2014 C7 didn't have the first year issues that have shown up with other cars. The manual transmission in all C7s has Rev Match that eliminates double clutching, and it's a blast to drive with it.
You might want to check out the electronic interfaces that were improved over the life of the C7. I'm not into any of that stuff so I can't comment.

I have a '14 Z51, conv, 7mt 1lt (16,800 miles) and, as a person who bought one first year car (new) previously, I've been very cautious about repeating that. And, clearly the first year C7 has been one of the most, if not the most, trouble free models ever released and I actually went with a '14 over a '15 and '16 (even though it lacked a few of the electronic updates of the later years) because of that unique claim.
Good luck.....
You guys are great, thank you. This opens up a lot more possibilities for me. I've waited a long time to be in a position to buy a car like this, really excited but will try to take my time and find the right one for me.
I always tell people start at 2016 and work your way up.
First year for the front-facing "curb" cameras. Extremely helpful.
First year for the Spice Red and Twilight Blue interior packages, if you like those colors.
I've owned my '16 for three years, now. The only problem I have had is the spotty delamination of the black leather covering of the Heads Up Display.
Check out cargurus.com. I found my Corvette and El Camino on that site. It's very good. Best of luck to you.
The newer cars added the front cameras and power hatch pull down - both are really helpful... wish my 2014 had them, but I bought what I could afford and wanted a Z51 with mag-ride, so no regrets.

You can add a front camera and car play with Navtool. Just sayin'
