Rear tow hook question
What is located behind the threads on the rear tow hook. My hook has long threads and if it goes to far I was wondering what it would hit.

Mine hook is longer, wont hit plastic. I can see something in the hole, not sure if its some kind of line or wiring.

I have the GM hooks and they are long. I had trouble getting the rear hook to go in. A little lubricant and it went in fine.
The hook did not get anywhere near the bumper. It was about three or four inches from the bumper.

What year is it? The first model year or two didn’t come with receptacles. But should be on the left side approximately in the middle between edge of diffuser and exhaust.

The car in the pic you posted doesn't have the rear receiver.
If your tow hook is that long, put two jam nuts on it to limit depth if it doesn't have them already. You'll have to screw the hook in probably 4-6" before you hit anything.

Piece
Is the threaded piece for the hook part of the frame or can it be removed/added?

It can be added. ZL1 Addons used to sell it. Have no idea if they still do or if you can buy the factory piece individually.

Part
Does the threaded mounted receiver on the z06 and GS bolt to the bumper or is it a welded part of the bumper.
