OP, you've gotten a lot of responses from a lot of people that know these cars better than you and I combined. If I were in your shoes I'd listen to them and return the car. Yes I know you love the looks, who wouldn't as it's a great looking car, but with everything that's been covered in this thread I wouldn't feel comfortable keeping it. This reminds me of a '71 Monte Carlo I once looked at buying. Beautiful car in appearance but the closer I looked the more issues I saw. That sucked because I really wanted to take it home but the problems outweighed how it looked.
IMO you should return this car and seek out another that won't have you second guessing yourself every time you look at it.

RUN and RETURN it !
Yes again, I thank everyone for their thoughts and time. I returned the vehicle today with the intent to rebuy said vehicle if everything gets sorted out and fixed to my satisfaction. I have no obligation to buy it back nor do they really have any obligation to sell it back to me. I am fine with this arrangement because of the 48k mileage. I love the color combo of the car and might buy it back in a couple of weeks, with a 30 day return policy. I will buy the gmepp at that time if I do buy the car back.
I am still hunting for another car in the mean time but c7z's m7 are tough to find without black interior under $72k. The used market will not dump off until you can readily buy a new car off of the dealer lots. That seams like 12-18 months at least with a more likely 18-24 months. Talk to the bigger corvette dealers and see what they say. The length of the waiting lists, that people have to put at least $2k down to be put on, is staggering. Macmulkin has over $3M in down payments that they are holding onto for people to have a chance to order a car once they are allowed to.
Don’t let the interior stop you.
I am in the process of changing my black 2lt interior to red.
I will do the work and the cost would be under $1,100.
You are brave! When I was shopping for mine I wanted red seats, there was none in the entire country. No red seats on ebay either. No way I would of bought a car with a black interior it would of been mount Everest to try and source parts. I waited weeks till a car with red seats popped up for sale. Bought the 2lt car and all I had left was to buy a red bat wing from a wrecked car.
I agree with the others. You should return it. The simple fact that you are disturbed and uncomfortable about it should be enough to warn you of the problems to come. Good luck!

I think you made the right decision and if the dealer sorts the car perhaps you can try to buy it back. Definitely keep looking and be patient. The right car will eventually turn up. There are thousands of them. A lot of people have been on toy buying sprees due to the pandemic. A lot of these people are going to move on to something else eventually and the market will return to a more stable situation.
Interior color is personal preference and an interesting thing and I agree that you should not settle. One of the reasons it took me so long to find my vert is nearly every car I found had red interior. Finally found the right car with the black interior I wanted but it had the 3LT package along with it.. Everything else on the car was exactly what I was looking for. Bottom line is you may have to bend a little to get into the right car but known mechanical issues or damage should not be one of those things when buying a toy.
