My 2014 C7 with 17,000 miles suddenly overheated while in a drive thru lane. I had just changed the oil and had only driven for less than a half hour.
I shut it off for a for a couple of minutes then proceeded when I could. I parked and let it cool for a few more minutes, then drove a short way home.
After parked for a few hours, I added a small amount of water to the reservoir then I went for a fairly long drive and all was fine. Water temp stayed at 220.
Any ideas what the overheat cause was? Stuck thermostat?
Some 14s have an issue with the fan controller. It shuts down in traffic and lets the car overheat. Usually turning the car off and back on resets the controller so it runs the fan. People resolve the problem by installing the 600 watt fan that came on the Z06.

More info needed.
Was the fan running on high or was it off and not making any noise?
In addition to the above mentioned fan issues the 2014 analog gauge is incorrect, use the digital gauge for the correct reading... should be about 20 degrees cooler.
