Tonight when we got into out 2016 Roadster to attend our CC Club meeting, the radio acted really strange. For one thing, the volume would not adjust and for another the XM radio was on channel "0" and would not tune to any other station. I tried AM and FM and the results were the same. Here is the really strange part, after the meeting, I got in my car and started the car, and poof everything worked properly. I am really confused now.
GM MyLink. I used to have that issue in one of my previous Camaros. You'll probably not see it again for a while. After it happened 3 times in my Camaro, I simply disconnected the negative battery cable for a few hours, then reconnected. Never saw the issue again for the remainder of my ownership.
There are a lot of electrical gremlins in our cars. Most of the time a restart resolves them. You should also suspect an aging battery if you still have the original battery.
Yes, I had a similar problem. Could not adjust the volume or station of the radio as it played a tune like it was on a loop, about 7notes over and over. A restart of the car after attending dinner and all was right. Battery is new as of Feb 2021 on our 2017 Z51 with 5,600 mi. Not
When the wires to my HMI module were lose I got strange behavior like that. The screen would go blank, the radio would stop playing, or it wouldn't change stations... various random things related to the radio it seemed. But no more issues after I made sure the connectors were tight.
Similar problem this weekend on my 19 GS with 5,000 miles. Radio would show stations, etc. but nothing out of the speakers. Bluetooth/phone worked fine. Not until I stopped, ate dinner and got back in it an hour later.....worked fine since.
I am going on a long road trip in September, so since my battery is 5.5 years old, I am going to go ahead and have it replaced when I get the oil changed next week. After someone mentioned the battery as a possibility, I remembered my C6 started to do weird stuff like this when the battery was getting weak. I replaced it and these issues went away. I also noticed my car was a little sluggish when starting up once last week. If it does it again after I get a new battery, I will have it checked.,

So at the risk of overstating the obvious here … if you hit the button on the S.Wheel that has the icon of the phone with a cross thru it it will kill all audio but radio will still display all , not sure if it resets with each start …
