So my car has been at my local Chevrolet dealership the last 4 weeks. Had the code P2534. They couldn’t fix it. Finally an engineer will be in this week to try and fix Has anyone else had a GM engineer work on their car? Car has been in the shop more than my garage. Fingers crossed this can be finally fixed. Starting to regret my purchase.
I have had field engineers work on dozens of customer cars as a dealer. They will generally work in conjunction with dealership techs. They well may not necessarily be the world's greatest techs but do have an incredible amount of knowledge to draw from. There is no better source of stored knowledge than what GM keeps from the millions of warranty events they deal with yearly.
Thanks for the response. Hopefully will know more by Friday. I hope. Will let you all know what is the cause of this. What if they can’t figure it out and it’s still under bumper to bumper warranty? What are my options then?
The chances are they will fix the vehicle. It does though take some time in certain cases. You would need to read the “Lemon Laws” for your state to know your options. Most- of the time there is some combination of repair attempts or time spent at the dealership to trigger a potential buy-back.

Let the engineer take a look, consult with resources available and then give you a diagnosis/repair procedure. Hopefully you’ll be back to driving your car very soon.

The GM engineer that comes to our dealership is real cool and works with the technicians as needed.
He had a C8 HTC test fleet car last time I saw him.
Faulty Ignition Switch Ignition Switch harness is open or shorted Ignition Switch circuit poor electrical connection
Just curious, what have they done thus far?
They have done all that I believe but will send my tech what you just sent. Man just want car back and drive it. This is my first vette ever. Don’t know enough but learning with help from you all.
Tracking down a circuit voltage issue can be a real pita. Hopefully a hungry mouse hasn’t dined on your wiring! I’m sure they will get it fixed and have you back behind the wheel in no time. They called in the big gun!

When I first heard the op’s tale of problems, a corroded connector due to flood damage came to mind.

I would hope that the techs would have seen other evidence if that was the case. Or there would be other issues as well. A service history would be good to look at. You never know though. People can do a good “clean up” job.
Back in my day (admittedly a long time ago) manufacturers had factory reps for each sales region who made the rounds, actually knew something about their products, and were almost always quite helpful or had direct contact with others who were. And, you know, not a one of them I ever saw or spoke with called himself (yeah all males) an "engineer."

My day goes back to the sixties and they had Field Engineers even then. Direct Contact dealers have a Sales rep, Service rep, and there is at least one Field Engineer in the region. Whether they have an actual engineering degree, that is their title.
Update. Engineer has had a look all day. They have now ordered a chassis control module. Of course they are no where to be found but apparently I’m first on the list. Man o man. Anyone out here had a chassis control module issue?

you can do a forum search on Chassis Control Module. I haven’t seen any threads on CCM failures. GM trucks had a recall on CCMs in your build timeframe. Tin whiskers in the board caused shorts.
