When I owned my C6, I often read about harmonic balancer issues that folks were having. I have a C7 now, and rarely if ever read about HB problems. Obviously they went from a LS3 to the LT1, but were there other changes that affect the HB?
My harmonic balancer needed to be replaced in my 2012 3 weeks after buying the car. Quick repair under warranty. No issues in the C7. I still miss my C6...it was supersonic blue and rare to see another like it.
I had to replace the one on my 08 at about 100k miles. My 15 doesnt have any problem at 95k miles
Glad to see that someone else is driving their C7. When I tell people that my 2015 has 73k miles, they look at me like I am crazy for having that many miles on a Corvette.
The HB problem did not start with the C6; many C5s had the issue, as did both mine and a friend's. However, I don't recall seeing anything here about it with C7s and my 2018 is perfectly fine (as is my replacement--still--with my C5).

Exactly. I did HBs in 2 of my C5Z's. Not a big deal, but they were a pain to get too. Good news was that while there you might as well pin them for later go fast parts.

My C6 was my daily driver until I moved to the C7 which is my current daily driver. Corvettes are fantastic daily drivers which put a big smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel. Overall very reliable even when they have high miles, and frankly more reliable than most cars. Don't be afraid to enjoy your car! Aside from not having a back seat which I have no use for 95% of the time I think the C6 and C7 are very practical because of the large amount of space under the hatch. Life is too short to drive slow cars!
The LT1 has many updates versus the LS3. The Gen V SB actually for the first time replaces many components (in design not just in part number) and is significantly different versus the Gen III and Gen IV (which share a lot of design flaws like the oil pump). Wouldn't surprise me if the HB was one thing that was significantly redesigned.
