Did a lot of car shows so I carried one in case it was demanded by promoters, which no one ever checked for them........
Out of habit, I keep one in the trunk for a just in case you never know type thing.
44 years of driving and never needed a fire extinguisher in a vehicle, so not planning on putting one in my C7. Added one in the garage and in the kitchen of my home. As far as vehicles go, with such a small risk of fire, I just rely on insurance in case of an incident.
These are great as they are very small with same capacity as larger conventional extinguishers and MAKE NO MESS.
This is the larger of the two sized they make. You use it basically like a signal flare. https://redirect.viglink.com/?format...entfire.com%2F

I have that one also . I try to put it in whatever I'm driving . I would feel guilty and not be able to sleep if I came upon a vehicle that was on fire with someone trapped inside and could do nothing . Not saying I could put it out but I could sure try .
Every vehicle, every building of mine has them. I've been through a couple racing fires over the years and would not be without.. Put them anywhere easily accessible. Just common sense, imho.
I organized a group buy of Element E50 extinguishers last year, so I put them in in every vehicle and a couple of places at home too. Seeing @Kevin A Jones setup makes me want to upgrade the ones here at home.
FWIW, the company was easy to work with on the Group Buy, doing a 10% discount and free shipping for minimum orders of 20 extinguishers. Extinguishers arrived promptly and were exactly as advertised.
I have an Element 50 in my car. Much longer discharge time and doesn't leave a corrosive mess to destroy your electronics! And, it is so compact that it fits between driver seat and door. Jay Leno has a video of it on YouTube, and there are videos showing it putting out fires. Expensive $80 on Amazon, but we'll worth it. Highly recommended! 🚘😊👍
If somebody else's car is on fire it may be worthwhile having a FE with you. If your car is on fire the first thing you should do is get out of the car not reach for a FE. If you have a race car with a fire system onboard sure hit the switch while you are unbuckling the belts. It can take 10 seconds from the time you realize the car is on fire till you are outside the car looking at it. Slowing your exit to reach for a FE that is located on the floor in front of the passenger seat or mounted behind the seats is time wasted that could cost you your life. Let the car burn to the ground, you are more important.
