Hello,
You can leave it attached as long as you want to. Won't do any harm. When you plug it in, give the plug a little twist to make a good connection. I had a problem when I first inserted mine and a member here gave me that little tip.

I leave mine plugged in whenever I am not driving the car, which means as long as 3-4 months over the Winter or a day or so in the better weather.

I leave mine attached anytime the car is sitting in the garage. It does not hurt the battery as it is designed to not overcharge the battery.

I use during hibernation only December - April but as others have said it doesn't hurt anything to leave it on all the time but I feel lazy at times and when it's driving season and I am ready to hop into the car and go I don't want to have to lift hatch, unplug, hang plug, close hatch and then be ready to go but that's just me.

I use my battery tender year round on my 2016 Stingray if it is going to sit more than a couple days. I did the same thing with my C5 and C6 with no problems.

If you leave the hatch open the lights turn off in around ten minutes.

Closing the hatch on the cables or leaving it open are both fine.

Just use a micro fiber ( or other soft cloth ) to protect where the wire hangs down. Especially if your car is black .

I recently switched to one of these. I have a smaller one for my motorcycle and really liked it. They have selectable battery chemistries so you can use them with whatever you are likely to have, including the Li-ion type. And the max 5 amp charge rate will be good to pump it back up relatively quickly if you let your battery get really discharged for some reason. They also have plenty of cables and attachments so you can use this for other batteries, vehicles or mowers and such easily enough.

Similar to others, I plug it in as soon as the car is in the garage with a 15 Z51 Conv and I just lower the lid on top of the cord.
The battery is 7 years old so far and no problems.

Did you convert the end of your battery tender to plug into the lighter type jack or do you go directly to the battery?

You can purchase a Battery Tender quick disconnect adaptor male plug that plugs into your Vette port. Less than $20.00 ( Called a ---Quick disconnect Cigarette Adaptor )
