Hello,
You can leave it attached as long as you want to. Won't do any harm. When you plug it in, give the plug a little twist to make a good connection. I had a problem when I first inserted mine and a member here gave me that little tip.

Left tender plugged in most of the time I was not driving it.
I use during hibernation only December - April but as others have said it doesn't hurt anything to leave it on all the time but I feel lazy at times and when it's driving season and I am ready to hop into the car and go I don't want to have to lift hatch, unplug, hang plug, close hatch and then be ready to go but that's just me.
I use my battery tender year round on my 2016 Stingray if it is going to sit more than a couple days. I did the same thing with my C5 and C6 with no problems.
wait a minute, wait a minute, proably another stupid question, but how did your trunk not close tight? on your cables, I am using the same set up but I have to leave the trunk up, or fully closed, I very curious also did the light stay on? in the trunk?
I recently switched to one of these. I have a smaller one for my motorcycle and really liked it. They have selectable battery chemistries so you can use them with whatever you are likely to have, including the Li-ion type. And the max 5 amp charge rate will be good to pump it back up relatively quickly if you let your battery get really discharged for some reason. They also have plenty of cables and attachments so you can use this for other batteries, vehicles or mowers and such easily enough.
That's nothing, I once left mine plugged in when I drove the car! (Fortunately no damage done.)
YOU TOO ?????? I just dragged it 25 feet through the garage till my wife alerted me before she was to get in the car. Like you, no damage except for my pride

Similar to others, I plug it in as soon as the car is in the garage with a 15 Z51 Conv and I just lower the lid on top of the cord.
The battery is 7 years old so far and no problems.

Did you convert the end of your battery tender to plug into the lighter type jack or do you go directly to the battery?

You can purchase a Battery Tender quick disconnect adaptor male plug that plugs into your Vette port. Less than $20.00 ( Called a ---Quick disconnect Cigarette Adaptor )
