Default Poor Quality

So, it was wash, polish and wax time... Noticed the rubber seal at the top of the window behind the drivers side was lose. Seems its held in place with a 1/8 inch strip of double sided tape. Amazing that GM would use such a poor quality design.

Going to the dealership Friday to get it fixed.

Note... Car is happy with its new body waxing.

That is a little strange. Good luck with the repair at the dealership.

Same thing happen to me. I ended up using a bit of super glue to fix it. Dealer told me that the entire glass would need to be replaced. In my case you can tell that part of the rubber seal was torn. Curious to know what they tell you when you take it in.

I used super glue on mine too when it separated. Thought it was a better option than what could happen from a replacement.

You'd all too likely be better off fixing it yourself, as others have opted for. Or, if not the most adept at such things, find a kid who is to do it for you. Just sayin'...

All the best, in any event.

YUP.......... Dealership told me that the glass would need to be replaced. Local glass shop that I have used before is going to do the work. Part on order. Only pain is I'll have to get that window tinted again.

I probably would have fixed it myself if I knew this in advance. But as they know it now... going to get it replaced.

I would just put some 3M weatherstripping adhesive in between the frame and the weatherstripping,, close the window, and let it set overnight. It might take a couple of tries, before the weatherstripping completely compesses and takes a ser. jmho

The weatherstripping on the C4 was famous for being a combination of chewing gum and tissue paper.

I replaced the weatherstripping around the windshield (that was a lot more exciting than I imagined), both sides around the side windows, the wipe strips on both sides, on a 1995 convertible. I used yellow 3M Adhesive, so it would be period correct. This was necessary, even though I dressed the weatherstripping every month.

I still dress the weatherstripping on the C7, every time I detail the car.
