2015 3LT Auto I have had several instances over the last week when starting the car, when I push the start button it will crank for 1 or 2 seconds and then nothing for a second or two and then will start again cranking and start the car. I have released the start button on the initial engagement of the starter. Any thoughts on what may be going on?
In most cases it's a battery issue; what's the age of your battery and do you drive the car regularly or does it sit for weeks at a time? Even a newer battery does like to sit for weeks at a time. I keep mine on a battery tender when not driven often.
"Step 1.- Check the battery, As the most common and frequently over looked cause.
Step2.- Check the starter and solenoid. Tap the starter with a broom handle or a piece of wood.
Step3.- Check the key fob battery.
Step4.- Check the pass-key system. Thus, the fuses used in the Pass-Key system. There are three, #14 CRK, IGN2 #50, and starter #52, that should be hot at all times.
(These are located in the passenger side footwell).
Step5.- Check the fuel pressure, relay number 35 in the engine compartment fuse box."
