Default C7 upgrade

Thinking about upgrading from my C7 stingray (2017) to Z06. Do you think there will be a lot of Z06 trade in's with the new Z06 reveal?

My guess, and it's just a guess, is that Stingray and Z06 prices will stay in the same relation to each other no matter how the C8 affects it. So, if Z06s are running about $25k more than a similar year and condition Stingray, that'll be the case even if the new Z06 causes a dip in C7 pricing.

I think the C8 Z06 will be out of reach for many for a long time and therefore not affect C7 prices too much.

No, there won't be a lot of C7 Z06 trade ins. The auto shortage ensures that new Z06es are a long way out.

There are plenty of C7Zs for sale right now. I wouldn't give the C8Z another moment's thought. It's going to be well into the 2nd half of 2022 before those cars start trickling out.

Will some C7 Z owners make the jump to a C8 Z - no doubt. Will that affect C7 Z pricing - doubtful to any noticeable degree.

I frequently look at C7Z06 pricing, and I find that usually in the winter, like most performance cars, there's nothing but left overs. Keep looking though, because occasionally you'll find a gem at a great price. Best time to look is Spring. However, I don't see the new Z effecting the price on a used Z, but you might have a better selection. Good Luck!

I do not see the C8Z changing the C7Z pricing or availability for the reasons above. Many of the C8Z guys are guys already driving the C8 stingray you have to remember, and those with the C7Z moving on are going to be waiting sometime as already stated, best bet is to keep watching and when one comes jump on it. Do not wait.

Maybe they will make a C8 GS....all the wide body and chassis benefits of the Z with the Stingray powerplant. Win Win!

Rumor is the Grand Sport is going to be replaced by a hybrid, similar to the NSX. LT2 or similar in the back, batteries in the center tunnel, and electric motors driving the front wheels.

Default Hmmm

normally (and I mean precovid) among C7 Vettes for sale there would be a plethora, more Z06's than others for sale. It has been discussed on this site coming up with guesses as to why (too stiff, too much car, etc.). BUT with the current circumstances all of that might be out the window........you'll find them but, well you know....

The C8 Z06 and C7 Z06 are completely different platforms. Therefore there will not be a devaluation of the C7 Z06. It will be in demand and hold it's head above water in the used pricing market.
If the latest generation Z06 was just an upgrade as usual, as opposed to a new paradigm, then yes, you would see normal devaluation of the C7 generation.
I think the C7 Z06s are going to hold their price quite well.

Since you've been checking them out what are your thoughts on this one. It's a 2017 Z06 3LZ with 9200 miles on it and it's turbocharged. I'll have to go look at it in person to see what kind of shape it's in. The only thing that i didn't like is that it's automatic. However my Stingray is an automatic so not a deal breaker..

seems to be quite a few z06's for sale and since winter is coming might be able to get a decent price vs. what they were or are asking when it was warmer out.

good luck.
