First of all, I use Google Maps and Waze for my navigation. However, I drive a 2016 and figured I would buy the new 2022 map updates at the sale price just for times when maybe I was out of cell service. Instructions said to start the car and leave it running until the update completed. Could take close to an hour. Well, I started the update and then got on a conference call. When I went out to the car an hour later it was no longer running. No clue why. So I'm trying to figure out if the update worked or not. If I try to run the update again, absolutely nothing happens. The red light on the USB drive blinks for 10 seconds and nothing ever happens.
According to their instructions, I should search for Dominoes in Kalamazoo Michigan and if one shows up at 2706 Michigan Avenue, the update worked. Well, it does. I still want other confirmation though as I drove by a road some 3 years old and it wasn't on there! Can someone with a 2019 Vette see if that Dominoes shows up in your Nav? I would appreciate it. If I look at the map software version on the settings screen, it says 84201676. On the update box, I have a GM part number 85151116, but I don't know that those should match. I called them and they said they could not tell by the software version if the update was successful or not. What?! Only by searching for the above mentioned Dominoes can they tell that the update worked. Any help to confirm is appreciated! Thanks.
2017 maps on my 2017 GS. Before I did the upgrade to the 2022 maps, I searched for the Domino’s on the 2017 maps. Not there. After I installed the new 2022 maps, I find the Domino’s they tell you to look for. Sorry, but I could only answer for the 2017, not the 2019.
My car also stopped running during the update a few days ago. Why? Don't have a clue, but I started the car up again and it continued to update showing it at 56% progress and eventually finished. I searched for the test address and it was good. So I was relieved that it worked. I have done previous updates and no issue of having the car shut down in the middle of the update. Also you can check for the current version to see if it is installed by looking for version 8515116 in the vehicle infotainment section of your display.

In a way, this is not surprising, but 3 years is quite a span. New roads within a year are almost guaranteed not to be in the new updates and why most opt out of factory nav systems now, if they can. GM has realized this and now have implemented the new "Maps+" system that will provide, for a monthly fee of course, this new method for 2018 models and newer (I just got the app in a recent "over-the-air" update for my 2021 Tahoe that does not have factory nav.) I'm not buying it and will stick with Apple CarPlay and Google Maps for free. Here's the link to info on the new program: https://plants.gm.com/media/us/en/gm...0412-maps.html

Mine says 84201676 for the map version. 8515116 is the GM product number on the box.

I just did the 2022 update last week. If you see that Domino's your good. The reason they have you look for THAT specific Domino's is because it was added to the 2022 update... Any year prior you "should" not be able to find it.
My experience recently is very similar to the OP. Download completed 100% without incident in my driveway.
However, the Dominos address showed up as 2706 michigan ave and not the 2706 W michigan ave required for confirmation.
I checked the software version in the settings and it was the old # 84201676 and not the correct # 85151116
When I called I was told that the new software version sometimes doesn't update on the screen but as long as the correct address is found, I have the most up to date maps.
When i mentioned the Dominos came up as 2706 Michigan Ave and not the required 2706 W Michigan ave she checked with someone else and came back to tell me I have the correct maps without further comment.
Did those of you successfully come up with the address on W Michigan ave. or was it just 2706 Michigan Ave.?
Or am I just splitting hairs here.
I also tried to reload the update, some weeks later, but as noted above, nothing happened. Either its a one time use, or it doesn't work if the same software is already loaded.

I also agree with previous poster that latest version is probably 3 years old from the get go.
That newest version is loaded in all 2021 products which began production some time in early 2020. But would have had to been finalized in final production form long before actual production began.
That information is generated from most recently available info, likely sometime near the end of 2019. And that's the best case scenario.

You don't need another confirmation...
When I recently downloaded the new software I didn’t have any references to look up that Dominos address. This is all new to me, guess I’ll try it ?

If you look in the instructions, on the inside cover, you will see it the exact address it tells you to try to test the update was completed successfully.
I'll post this information for anyone that has a '14 or '15 and upgraded their HMI for AA/Carplay. You probably have a 2.5 HMI, so I just put in that my car was a '16 even though it was a '15 and they used the VIN and provided me the map for the '16-'19 and it upgraded perfectly. Took about 50 minutes. I hooked up a high amp battery charger to the battery and turned the ignition on by holding down the start button with out my foot on the brake and inserted the USB and it took off after a few prompts. Why waste gas? After a while, the message "Battery Saver Mode Active" came on, but the ignition remained on till I turned it off after it was finished. The battery charger had no problem keeping it at 14.5 volts. Not a trickle charger!

Well I knew I read the directions and I looked again. This is what my inside cover directions read. No address to check with ??
