One thing to consider is the tow truck driver, if you ever have to have your vehicle towed.
A tow truck driver on one of the threads here, suggested that a driver would not like to have to deal with the permanent pucks.
I put mine in when I take the car into the Dealer. I ask them to remove them when they are done with the car. Just a thought.
If a tow truck bed is hitting the jacking pucks, something is seriously wrong. Either the puck is inappropriately oversized, or the car fell off the truck. They are a 1/2" thick and inside the wheelbase.
Sorry, I should have explained further. That is correct. They attach the chain hooks in the holes the pucks are in.
I keep an allen wrench in the car to remove my aluminum pucks if necessary for this. Not that I'll actually remember it when I'm stuck in that situation......
As a Tow Truck Driver for over 30 years Pucks use to T-Hook slots and if you have permanent pucks in the T-Hook slots i would not be happy !!!! I would not be able to winch your car up on the bed and tie it down with out damage. Please use removeable PUCKS !!!
we want to buy a set of those jacking pucks ,the ones that are permanent, I heard that they can break or crack ,does anyone know anything about these? thanks
The permanently fixed pucks are problematic in that they collect dirt n grit in the cavity. What you want are easy in, easy out twist on hockey pucks with the fasteners in each one. I still need to buy a set for my C7. If you find a source that's reasonably priced, please post it.
