Hello folks...My installer has had covid for about 3 weeks and I am concerned for his health and ours...so I am thinking of installing the Jake Stinger decal myself ...with the help of my buddy of coarse. I removed the grill in preparation for the installer on my Z06 hood. Now I am wondering if anyone has any install instruction video or just what I need to do this and what I need to do it myself. I have watched a couple of install videos but I wanted to ask you folks for any advice other than going to a professional shop....there is snow and ice here and I will not take my Vette anywhere in these conditions. I would appreciate your help and comments.
Thanks and Be Safe!!

My 2 cents. The decal from GM took my installer 3 tries to get a decent one from GM.I returned 2 from GM Parts sellers on line.
Then I removed the hood and stock GM Stripes to get a good install.Well,The install didn't go well. The temperature in my garage was around 50.Alot of bubbles to pop with a needle and rubbing. The rubbing marred the flat black surface to where I see Flaws.
GM Has awesome Stinger decal that is pricey.Have a professional do it.
If he makes a BOBO it would be on him.I may live with my Flaws??
I did not install the Jake GM decal, but the wife and I installed a Stinger Stripe from one of the forum vendors and we were able to get it perfect. Believe me, if I can do it anyone can. I usually would mess this up!
The YouTube videos are helpful. I did not use a squeegee, just a micro fiber cloth to press the decal on. Here are the key points.
Do this on a cool day inside a garage - not in the sun!
Clean the surface well with Dawn before you start.
Remove the vent as you did.
Spray the hood well, and keep it wet.
I sprayed down the roof and used the roof and windshield as a table surface during the peeling process. Whatever surface you use, make sure it is clean and wet it down as a precaution so the decal won't accidentally stick to it!
The important part is to have an extra person when you are peeling the backing off the decal. Make sure all hands are well covered in the lube spray. One person uses both wet hands fingers to hold to the corners of the decal, and the other person to spay and pull back the backing with wet fingers. Peel back a small amount of backing and spray it good! Peel back a little more and spray the decal well. The mistake is to peel off too much and not spray it or having a dry hand/finger touch it!
You cannot use too much lube spray from the spray bottle.
Move the decal around on the hood. You have a lot of time. Make sure it aligns perfect before you press it down.
Work from the center line of the hood and I just used a MF cloth to press the water out from the middle first
Keep an eye on the alignment. You can make slight adjustments.
If you spot bubble forming, as you work out from the middle now is the best time to address them!
At the end, if you have bubbles, you can use a regular hair dryer to help work the bubble out. Work the water out to the closest edge or until they disappear.
After you are done, keep an eye out for any more water bubbles that might form. If you cannot press them out, use a hair dryer. I saw bubble form even a day later and was able to get the all out.
Hope this helps. It is not hard. You do have to be patient and have multiple eyes to help get it aligned and look for bubbles.

Remember the old fake woodgrain wagons? Ugh.. I used to dread putting those on the entire length of a 20 foot car. After a while though i got real good at it. Zero bubbles.
LOL...LOL..My buddy actually asked if I wanted a beer before we started...LOL......darn it...he knows I don't drink...btw...I wouldn't want to do this all the time!!
