I am on the fence about replacing the front bumper cover on my 19 GS with a ZR1 replacement bumper cover. I see several U Tube saying that if you drive your Vette on the street this bumper is not a plus as it is to close to the bottom on a stock height Vette.
What are members experience with this bumper cover??
Thank You
Freda
I say go for it ! It looks so much better then the stock bumper imo , and it really helps your C7 stand out compared to the mass majority that have Oem bumper - Z06 Grille - Stage 2/3 splitter
Yes the lip makes it sit a little low , but its not terrible , even on the worst of curbs with some patience i got out scrape free.
I have one on my car & unless you are plaining to go really fast over a speed bump, Are yes if you drive it into a side walk that is in front of your car it will do damage. I use my front camera & have not done any damage at all.
Yes you will need to use a ramp to get the car onto a lift that is to much off the floor. I love my front end on the car & can live with the few problems that it has to be like it is. Robert
I'd recommend that you confirm fitment with GS fenders. From glancing at various photos of the two cars, I question whether the zr1 bumper would even be a direct bolt on for your GS.
Edit: Nevermind as I see there are aftermarket "zr1 style" bumpers to fit other models.
I looked into this conversion two years ago and talked to someone who had done it using the Vicrez ZR1 bumper. In short, he said it was a nightmare, and not only involving the cosmetic fitup. Whether the conversion using other products works and fits better, I do not know. But after our discussion I concluded it was not worth all the time and extra effort involved in fitting the bumper to a conventional Stingray. It was not a simple swap out and bolt-on conversion.
I suggest having a discussion with someone who has completed the conversion to get the full picture of what is involved with whatever product they installed.
If I was tracking my Z06 and needed the additional cooling, absolutely. Otherwise, these cars are low enough for street-driving damage. Why give myself another headache? Just my view.

I got mine from EOS , it is basically a simple swap. Its just 3 Grille pieces instead of 1.

Its not as bad as people say and in reality they are being very , very dramatic. It requires the same patience having a stage 2 or 3 splitter would require through daily driving.

I have seen numerous people say the fitment is off and was a complete pain in the *** to install. Plus since you have to have it painted as well, that makes trying to get it to fit right, make it prone to scratches, etc.

I have a buddy who went through hell a couple years ago with his body guy to get the vicrez to line up properly on his Z06. Spent a lot of money on modding it, but in the end it came out looking great. Glad to hear the EOS is an easy fit out of the box. Still, not my cup of tea on my street car, but glad to hear there’s progress on the fit.
What does the EOS version cost? I assume it must be painted before installation?
$999 you can paint it or use it as a opportunity to get the car wrapped !
