I'm looking online at a used C7 that has a front license plate frame. My home state doesn't require a front plate so I am questioning if the frame can be removed without leaving any marks on the car.
I removed it from mine. There are the slightest rub marks where the top edge of the frame rubbed against the bumper cover. Mine's red, like that one. In my case, with only 13,000 miles, the mark is barely noticeable. On a car with more miles, it may be different.

Mine is a factory one that has the fingers that go through the grill. It was loose, so, I checked it out. To see anything, which was just a slight buffing of the inside of the plastic, I had to be about four inches from the grill, looking for it. I would not worry.

Two screw type attachments hold the plate to the grill. Should be an easy removal and hope that that particular holder did not leave any marks on the nose of the fascia.
Depends on the type of front incense plate I used the OEM type first but it left rub marks I used a little rubbing compound and some elbow grease and the rub marks were gone, I use the Aero plate holder now it sits lower and looks better
You will not know if any or extend of damage until you remove your particular frame.
I don't believe duration of use or model year will matter much as far as damage goes. It's probably more and initial install thing. Installed too tight against the bumper cover can result in damage and too lose allowing movement against the cover can result in damage.
The below is good for removing minor imperfections without having to go the buffer route.
I looked around the internet and Youtube and I believe this plate frame is through the grill and easily removed without leaving marks. Am I correct? Sorry for the photo, the online dealer had some out of focus photos
I know this topic has been beaten to death on CF and I've read most of them. My question is if this bracket is the Aeroplate and easily removed without leaving marks? The car is online and the seller will not remove it before purchase. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, it is the best I could do.
Looks like the aeroplate. Easy to remove and no damage to the grilll. Gonna vent for a sec. Bought a Jeep Trackhawk in the spec we wanted....took 6 months to find it. Ask the dealer not to install the front plate. Of course the didnt listen and to remove would leave two screw holes in the front bumper.
