Default Rear diffuser lights

Hey Guys,

Have any of you guys installed led lights to replace the reflectors on the rear diffuser?

If so, I have a couple questions.
1. What did you tap into for power/function?
2. Any interference with the tpms sensors like some of the led side markers?

Pics with them on would be cool too.

Les

Yes, I installed the sequential lights in place of the reflectors. You must make sure you are getting the 4 wire lights. You tap into the tail lights. The white wire goes into the turn signal wire. The black goes into the black ground wire. For pics Google c7 sequential turn signal lights. Very

I bought these from a guy on here. They are very cool looking. I bench tested them but have not installed yet.

I tapped into the rear side markers. No TPMS errors.

I installed led rear reflectors shortly after I installed my led side marker lights. I did get a TPS error message from the side marker lights so I am not sure if I would get the same if only the rear reflectors were installed.

I do not have the version of the rear reflectors that can tap into the turn signals - mine stay on solid and I tapped into the side marker light for a power source. I did not take the rear fascia loose for the install. I was able to get the stock reflectors out using a plastic trim tool which took some patience and careful prying. To me the hardest part of the install was fishing the wires from the reflectors down to the side marker lights, especially on the driver’s side as there was a cooling fan tucked up in there.

Check with your local state laws on replacing that reflector; I believe that all vehicles must have a reflector on both sides of the rear. Replacing them just gives LEO a reason to pull you over and sniff around. Not worth it to me......

No issues with TPMS here. I understand there is another option that has yellow and red sequential available, but as you see, I did not try that one.

I tapped into the 3rd brake light and use them as additional brake lights only, not into having them on as parking lights all the time, too busy looking for me.

@brocco are they as bright as the 3rd brake light or do they just come on with the brakes, but only as bright as the regular markers? I.e is there a max brightness to them?

Trying to decide on tapping into 3rd brake or license lamps
Thanks,
Mike

they only come on when the brakes are applied, and about as bright as the 3rd brake light. A real nice look

I have the 4 wire and I was not able to get the turn signal function to work. There is a slight
drain went hooked to the turn signal wire. I have the 2 other functions working and no error message.
