While replacing it the mechanic detected the dreaded torque tube rattle. Add another $3,500.00 to replace it. Both were known potential problems with early production 2014 C7s.

There were some nice updates with the '16 model year. CarPlay, Android Auto, power close rear hatch.

The 2017 is the perfect year because that is what I have. Do the best you can with lower mileage, less owners and good records. 2LT Seems to be the sweet spot for options you need. Z51 is helpful if you are going to track but useless otherwise. Great car in any configuration.

I am lucky to have one of each generation. Of course the C7 is better in every way but I still like my C5 a whole bunch!!!!

I'm looking at 2014 convertible z51 with 2lt package and a 2015 coupe z51 with 2LT package. Both roughly same price. With one would be better. We travel all the time so I'm looking for trunk space. I have a 2002 convertible already and I have read it has a larger trunk space then c7 convertible. I'm just looking for suggestion and why
Thanks

We travel a lot in our 2016 coupe. I can't speak for the convertible but the coupe has lots of room under the hatch. Two medium size suitcases, a cooler, backpack and many smaller items fit just fine. The 2LT is perfect. Everyone seems to want a Z51 but I don't understand why unless you track the car. My brother's 2014 Z51 coupe with magnetic shocks rides much harsher than my Stingray. And if you step up to a 2016 you have more options available, like forward facing parking cameras and PDR. Whatever car you decide on, enjoy it to the max!

Thanks. It will be a cruising car for us
I have a 2015 base model. Runs well, nice ride, and is easy to take care of. You won't regret a C7.

Sounds like a 2019 Grand Sport, 2LT convertible is in your future. I personally love the M7 as it makes me feel like I'm really driving a sports car and I LOVE THE TWISTIES! I will drive it until my left leg gives out!
