Do not use poison. 25 years as a dealer tech and had a lot of problems w/ mice in customer cars. You want to trap them and throw them away like Dale#3. Poison makes them feel crappy, if they have been in your car, it is a nice cozy spot to go, so they do. And then they die. Worst smell in the world. I buy the traps in a 6 pack so when I catch one, I throw away the mouse and the trap.
I used to bait and last Spring one found it's way in to my HVAC system "somewhere" and decided to die. It's still there. I don't bait anymore. Snap traps for me plus I leave the hood up when parked. Mothballs and peppermint bags set at the interior filer area in the engine bay.
