Could very well be a mount or maybe a suspension bushing. Get it up on a 4 post drive-on and check mounts for leaks; then have driver alternate D & R every 2 seconds. The guy underneath should spot the clunk you describe easily.

May I add:The driver holds foot on the brake in both D and R.If no movement at idle,then a slight smooth short accelerate in both D and R holding the brake.
